Wheel ?
Have Vossen CV3's 20's installed on my Z with Eiback Pro Kit with 10mm spacers in rear. My question is this...Is it normal for the tire or wheel to have just a slight angle to it?? Let me word this another way...Is it normal for the top of the wheel near the wheel well to be angled just slightly inward more than the bottom of the wheel. Again this is ever so slight but I think its noticeable.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! |
Totally normal with a drop!! Its negative camber

Thanks for the info!! |
Anytime you change an aspect of your suspension it is best to get an alignment. A slight difference in suspension geometry can affect your handling and your tire wear.
typically when you drop a car you get negative camber (which wears away at the inside of the tire). When this happens you add a little toe in on the rear (this allows for a slightly more even wear giving you more contact surface and longer tire life). Mike  p.s. NTB has a 1 yr unlimited alignment plan. Works great if your making changes alot. I would always get it on my track going cars and switch back and forth all the time on setups. |
Even with stock wheels/tires and drop/suspension the wheels will have some camber (wheels angled in at the top). You just didn't notice before changing everything up. Totally normal but have the alignment checked to insure tire life.

Ok thanks guys!!!
Sorry for all the dumb questions but me and working on cars doesn't mix well. One last question is that OK.. To give more toe how is that done?? |
Several companies sell camber kits and toe bolts. SPL has a very good set of parts.

Invest in SPC rear camber kit with the toe bolts. I have dropped my car fairly low and with the rear spc set up it is all within specs. Any pics?

Going for an alignment today. Hope they are careful and don't scratch my new wheels when doing it.
