It was explained to the by a guy at discount tire that on a 255/35 that the 255 is the width (I think we all no that) but what i didn't realize is that the 35 (second number) is the side wall height that is roughly 35% of the width. So when you go to a larger tire the second number gets smaller. It doesn't necessarily mean the front tire on let's say a 265/35 has a taller sidewall than a 305/30 (while ther is some difference it's not much). I found this website (1010tire.com) as a useful tool for me since I'm looking to keep the same diameter as the stock tires but go to a 20" rim and wider tires.

If you guys aren't, you should really be using a site like this: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
For the left hand column, put in the stock wheel and tire size. For the right hand column, put in the wheel size you're testing or expecting to fit. Play around with the tire size to get something close to stock diameter. It even tells you how the tire size and wheel width/offset affects fitment and speedometer readings and other cool stuff. It's a quick and simple tool but super effective in helping you choose your next setup. Other than that, nailing the perfect fitment comes down to setting your ride height where you want it, setting your camber to where you want it, and then fine tuning everything with some spacers. Use a ruler to measure how much outer clearance you have to figure out what offset wheels to go with. |

On stock roadster 19" sport rays can I go 305/30 in rear and 275/35 in front with no spacers? And any change if I lowered the car 1.25"? Anyone have pics of a similar set-up???

JVerge...
I just ordered my new tires the other day for my stock 19" Sport Rays... Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Positions (265/35/19 Fronts & 305/30/19 Rears). I currently have the stock Bridgestone tires on the car now, so I will indeed get before and after shots to post. I am also planning to lower the car on Swift springs, and later add spacers. I'll hopefully have this done within the next week or two... so pictures will be posted soon!

I got the SPL Titanium Rear Camber links. They seem really solid and well made.

I want to see some "Meaty Tires" here. Some like 295+ on the front and 325+ on the rear. Would love to see 315's on the front and 355's on the rear.
