I have a question and please forgive me if it's all ready been answered on this thread but I just recently got 275/35/20's in the front and 315/35/20's in the rear and ever since my traction control light won't go off. I'm not sure why this is but I'm guessing it's because of the meats. Can someone please enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

What make of tires do you have? If you know the specs on them. Then you know the tire height. Too much differance in tire diameter will make the light come on. Thinking that you have too much differance in height. You would be better off with a 315/30-20 in the rear.

The reason more than likely is because of your tire sizes. First, your rear tire is a whopping 8% (6.6") larger in circumference than original, but that's not the problem.

The problem is that you have a 4% (3.5") difference in circumference from front and rear tires, this would throw the VDC ecu off because your front and rear axles will be turning at different speeds without any steering angle.

Your front tires will be spinning faster than your rear on the axle, making the VDC ecu think there is wheelslip (although impossible due to the fact the Z is rwd and there's no way the fronts would be spinning faster than rears unless you're locking up the rears with the e-brake but that's beside the point, it still throws off the computer)

Three different ways to solve this:

1. Turn off your VDC everytime you start your car.
2. Replace rear tires with 325/30R20
3. Replace all tires with tires that are closer to factory diameters like 275/30R20 front and 325/25R20 in the back.

when i decided to go wider i checked many different options and brands to make sure i got close.

my set-up has identical circumferences F/R of 26.3"

265/35/19 F and 305/30/19 R

I'm on the edge with my sizing. 275/35-19 (26.6") and 345/30-19 (27.2").

Thanks guys. They're nitto invo. We went with these tires because of the wide body. The rear wheels have a huge concave so the two look amazing together but I guess I'll just have to live with the light or turn the vdc off. One more question... Can this damage anything long term or is it just having to deal with the light?

Besides a possible safety issue with vdc, if it doesn't work than you don't have it, if it does, it might work improperly so I'd just turn it off and pretend youre driving an older car without the driver aids like I always do anyway

Your abs may also be affecred, as well as brake force distribution. It is really not a good idea to have different front and rear diameters with so many electronics in the car but as far as damaging something, I don't see what you could damage unless it causes an accident, but you should be able to feel if any of the car's characteristics feel dangerous at the limit I guess.

Np, it's a nice setup...I love wide front (& rear obviously) tires, but the fronts are more rare to see that wide.

You're only at a 2.1% difference, he has a 4% difference. There's the problem

Next time get 295/35R19s for the front and you'll be at 0.1% of a difference...then again those are really expencive and hard to come across, but 285/35R19s are everywhere and they're still closer than the 275 obviously, they're at a 1.1% difference from your 345

I might move up to the 285/35-19 when I need front tires, or go even bigger if I can $$$ for new front rims.
