Rear 275/35/19: Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 vs. Potenza RE760 Sport

AK- another lower-cost high perf tire is the continental DW's. i recommend that for anyone on a tighter budget. tread life is much longer too than the re050a's

I just got these on today to replace my stock tires on my sport rims. Went with stock sizes on the Bridgestone re760s. Initial reviews is that they feel completely different than stock. I'm not a race car driver, my z is my daily driver, no track days or anything. Road noise is quieter and everything feels more responsive. I can let you know more as the days go on and as I get more miles on them.

i see. i actually just received my hankook v12 today too. but haven't gotten the chance to swap them onto the sport rims yet. let us know how the re760s are. i was thinking of getting those but haven't seen much reviews. my car is my daily driver too so i dont mind giving up some performance for comfort.

I have the RE11s installed now. Bridgestone is on sale this week at Costco...well here in the Bay Area anyway.

My sizing 245/40-19 285/35-19. Cost me a total of $1150. And Costco includes road hazard with that price too. My wheels are Volk TE37SLs so I was a little bit scared to get them mounted there but luckily my friend works there and he was able to mount them for me, not using the machine mounting system.

A question, the RE 50's have a 140 wear rating and the RE 11's have a 180 wear rating but in practice the RE 11's actually wear faster, is that correct?

Manufactures can basically "make up" their number, so use it as a reference rather than a guide. The wear is probably similar between the two, don't expect any 20K magic out of them

Smile Potenza Vs Hancook

I keep having to go back to the Potenzas as they appear superior to the others in most but always tread wear. I tried the Hancooks V12 Evos mentioned, in all attributes bar wear they are good. Potenzas last a heap longer though. 'm about to try the Potenzas 760 in lieu of the Pole Position ones...fingers crossed. I have been getting my Tyres from Tire Rack for around the $300 mark. In Australia same tyres {} are $800 for the 245 40 19 and $1000 for the 275 25 19!!! Cost $450 to ship them...still way in front.

I second the conti dw's. If you have the bucks I would go for the pss's. They are great street tire that can do it all very well.

I am in the same boat, I just bought my re-11s about 6 months ago 285r 265f on stock 19s. The cost was almost 1800 for warranty, mounting etc.. So the pss should give me similar performance but longer tread life. Willi be able to run 295 rear no issues or just do 275?

Thank for everyone's input. I decided to stick with the RE050a from Tirerack (gotta support the sponsor). I still have some thread left on the front tires and have the previous front tires (when I put all 4 brand new re050a). So, I'll let these two partial fronts to wear out one set after another and by that time these new rears will be done. Then I will probably go all 4 RE-11 or PSS.

Though some of you guys are saying RE-11 wears faster, do you guys remember Sharif's this post? I was pretty much sold to them after this post:

Bridgestone RE11: After 12K Miles, theUndisputed KING of street tires. Review inside

I definitely don't drive like a grandma (not very aggressive either) just a bit aggressive at time. I got 28k out of my stock potenza, and I think I can even push more out of it but decided to go with re11
