I was on my way home the other day. Took the corner and my car started to shake and then started to drift. I did a 180 and hit the curb broadside. Right front wheel broke with the center still attached to the car. Anyone experience anything like this or have any info on this?

Than sux, glad you're okay. Thats what happens when metal hits concrete, concrete wins. i've seen several rims break like that after impact with a curb, rock, ditch.......

Missing a lot of info. I'm assuming it wasn't raining and the street was free of dust, debris, sand, dirt etc. Assuming so, how fast were you taking the turn, did you downshift upshift, was there any loss of power or sudden acceleration and of course was your VDC on or off.

Wow!

Yeah that impact looks like it happened with some force, the wheel came off and the nissan emblem with 1/4 of the spokes and the lugs are in tact. WOW

I wouldn't fault the wheel for getting destroyed due to an impact so I don't see how this would have been a Problem.

I'm sorry to see what happened :( but I'm glad you're ok

Holy crap!!! The rear suspension and rim is F@#k'd up too ... dude, hope you're all right.

m4a1mustang 02-20-2012 10:14 PM

Wheels will break like that if you hit the lip area of the rim with enough force.

Flushnismo 02-20-2012 10:14 PM

Wow that had to be a big *** curb and a Hard hit. Completely sheared lower perch arm. :icon14: wow

mantella87 02-20-2012 10:16 PM

Glad you're okay, but your biggest problem is not the wheel judging from the pictures.

Face 02-20-2012 10:32 PM

Damn... rear lower arm busted, side airbags deployed... How's your neck?

Physics were against you in this instance, nothing more. I can't imagine your damage would be a reflection of poor quality parts.

Haulnz 02-21-2012 02:15 AM

What really happened ? :eekdance:

Carbon_z 02-21-2012 03:41 AM

Mine snapped off along with the Spindle, wheel hub, caliper and wheel of course. But yours did the opposite.
