Default Wheel Help for the track.

I want to run competition tires and it really limits me for the most part to 18's. Can anyone recommend 18's where I don't have to sacrifice the width in the rear. The wheels also need to be lightweight. Looks are not a priority. The proper offsets are also important because I have the sport package. I don't know much about wheels just about driving, any help would be greatly appreciated. The wheels are for track use only. I'm involved with a time trials series at my track and I need the right equipment for the job.

Tires I'm considering are; Hoosiers, Advan A048, ECSTA V710....

Thank you in advance....

The Forgestar 18's currently in pre-production are probably going to be the best bet for the money. They are relatively lightweight (20-23 lbs) and available in 9, 9.5, 10, 11, 12 inch sizes. That would allow you to run 315's Hoosier R6's up back without a problem, and anything from a 275 to a 295 up front (whether the 295 will rub will depend on suspension and offset). I really like the V710's but there aren't nearly as many size choices. I don't have any experience with the Advan's.

Best track wheel is by far the ENKEI RPF1s. They are Forged light weight wheels. 17s only weigh 15lbs. That gives you a idea.

18x10.5 with 15mm offset all around with 275s on all corners for the 350z works wonders on the track.

The sizes you mentioned aren't even listed on that web page.

The RPF1s are absolutely awesome for the money, but I don't believe they are forged.

I'm happy to be wrong, but I recall that they use some proprietary technology. Ah - it's Enkei's Most Advanced Technology (MAT) - what a cheesy name. Still though, you can't argue with the results of these wheels.

I'm not the one to ask for RPF sizing - none of the websites or cutsheets I see on that wheel seem to agree...

I can't find the enkei's on those sizes and the 15mm offset won't clear the brakes in the front I don't think. Please help I can't wait for the forgestars I need to order these asap.

Would these work? Nice big offset to clear the breaks can run 18x9.5 and 18x10.5...

Nismoz, I've been looking at those RPF1's for a while now...I think it would be OK to put 305's on them too. The only problem is that I want R888's and the 305's would have to be 35's....they are going to make the wheels look small with so much rubber...I dont like them as much then.

Enkei Wheels : NT03+M (Racing Series))

They clear StopTech upgraded big brake kits on the 350z so they should easily clear brakes on the 370z. They have 18x10.5 with 15mm offset. Many buy them. They are just not listed there.

If it's for track, you don't go for looks.

I've seen offsets as low as +22 front and +18 rear used. It is less a function of offset and more of wheel design, so there is no magic number unfortunately. Typically the wider you go, the less range of workable offset you have as there is less gap on both inside and out.

Robert_K in Houston as an example has the Stoptech 14" Brake upgrade on his 350z. He has the 18x9.5 15mm offset and has plenty of clearance. Most autox/roadcourse racers with the 350z use these wheels and have brake setups.

18x10.5 15mm all around.

The 370Z offset requirements are a little different than the 350Z because of the position of the hub, not because of the brakes. +15 is not likely to work with a 10.5, especially up front. It certainly wouldn't work with that offset without fender rolling and additional negative camber.

I find it odd that they changed the offsets that much as both cars are still very similar under the sheet metal. Unless you know for sure and have tried it, I wouldn't say it doesn't work. Has anyone tried putting 350z wheels on their 370z yet?
