Quick decision
I recently purchased my 370 and I just got my title in. Tomorrow I'm going to get a license plate. When I bought the car, I got two sets of wheels/tires with it. I have the 350 wheels and the stock sport package rays. The 350 wheels are on right now because they are winter tires. The only problem is that the back left tire of the winter 350 tires has a hole in it which was already patched once by Nissan but now is leaking again. I want to drive this weekend so I need to make a decision by tomorrow. I would put on the stock tires, but they pretty much have no tread. The way I see it, my options are either to buy one new back tire that wouldn't match, buy two new tires for the back, or try to patch it again. I'm going to get new tires for the rays, but I don't want to rush the decision. I really want to drive this weekend so I need to figure something out. Any opinions/suggestions? Thanks.

too bad you are not closer, I have two tires you can have for cheap

Ones that'll fit the 350 wheels?
The other back tire is a Pirelli 4 seasons tire, but it only has 8/32" tread left. I could buy the same exact one, but it comes brand new with 11/32". I dont really want to have two different tread wears. So I dont know what to do. |
I got like 8 tires sitting at home in different size. I would help you out if you were closer.

haha I wish you were. have any suggestions though for what I should do?

Off the top of my head, I have 2 265/35/19, 4 285/35/19, 2 245/40/18, I might have 2 more in 18s, 2 225 45 17 4 195/65/15. With the exception of the 245, most are left over tires from autox. You can have them if you buy my dog a big bag of food. I keep them as spares for friends and others if I see they still have tread

no one has really answered what they think I should do lmao

i woudl go with 2 new tires instead of just getting 1. once you get one of one kind and one of another it will be hard to get either to wear out at the same time, so you will be constantly changing out one tire then the other. also its just my opnion, but getting matching tires would give me piece of mind in terms of wear and performance. just knowing they were both performing equally would be nice imo.
patching over or in place of a failed patch would just be asking for trouble hope that helps you out :tiphat: |
Thanks. I think I'll just go with two!

You could also call around to tire shops and see if they have any used tires of your type. Others have the problem you have and will buy 2 tires. Some of the shops will throw away the unfixable tire and keep the half used tire to sell. I've done this before with another car.

^^ that's a good idea. my local tire places usually do have used tires... (i dont go to them any more though since they messed up my wheels. )

Go with two new back tires. :)
