beautiful, but doesnt really flow with the evo above... it matches really well with the c63 though...

christian370z 01-20-2012 06:56 PM

Those look amazing, I think the perfect touch is the subtle machined finishes to break up the darker paint. If I had the cash, I'd definitely pick up a set for sure.

nmjaxx9 01-20-2012 07:28 PM

Wow these look amazing :yum:

tsg-z 01-20-2012 09:08 PM

Do not want! Volk as brand is slipping...

Kingbaby 01-20-2012 10:51 PM

post the weights of them then you might rethink that

im sorry . 19's

kenchan 01-24-2012 02:19 PM

those G25's look nice but they need to do something about the price. at over 80000yen, thats like $1035 each + your margin that's going to be like a frikken $5K wheel set shipped. :icon17:

honestly, that is not a $5K wheelset in my book.

lol, i know it's "gotta pay to play" mentality, but even i would have to think long and hard before committing that much money on a set of wheels.

good thing i got my TE37s early :rofl2:

well, my VPiano i gave to my wife costs a lot more, but just sayin'. :D

370Ztune 01-24-2012 03:35 PM

Volks are actually often a little cheaper by the time they make it over here, just like Japanese cars are a bit cheaper over here.

 they are now made in the USA? if so what kind of prices are we talking about.

honestly i would pay no more than 650 a pop for those.

By "make it over here," I mean "arrive here from Japan."

You can't even get TE37s for that price.

oh i see.

huh, i thought the TE37's were their top of the line tuner type sports wheel. these G25's are cast mid-grade no? i mean they adverstise on a FT86 so im thinking more of a budget Volk line up like gramlights or something.

i must be confused...or they're confusing us.

GLWS!

The G25s are fully forged; the same quality as TE37s but with extra machining for lightness.

They're currently still prototyping the 20" version.

asdfsammich 01-31-2012 09:50 PM

The G25's are listed on the Volk site but I didn't find any weight information.

Are the weights available yet?

370Ztune 02-02-2012 05:21 PM

19x9.5" wheel - 19.5lbs :)

asdfsammich 02-04-2012 04:21 PM

Yep, good stuff. Thanks for posting the lbs :tiphat:

370Ztune 02-24-2012 02:43 PM

I managed to find one small banner for the G25 actually on a 370z:

I believe it's the Ings demo car, so the hunt is on to find more photos!

Bullet_proof 02-25-2012 11:57 AM

Nice and all, but for well under 2k you can get enkei's gtc01 on hyper black, equally sexy IMO, and prob 3k+ to spend on something else. I know they're heavier, but still performance wheels and lighter than stocks. Jmo.

GTC01s look like **** compared the G25s!

Bullet_proof 02-26-2012 07:13 AM

Beauty is such a relative and subjective term, I think they're sexy. Just like I think chrome weeks are ugly, but hey that's just me. ;)

Any idea on weight savings over TE37sl? I have 9.5s and 10.5s

kenchan 02-27-2012 01:10 PM

like 1.5lbs-2lbs maybe? does that even matter?

Zerafian 02-27-2012 01:16 PM

id love to see an updated sf challenge or gtv

kkruel55 02-27-2012 01:45 PM

unsprung weight is very important... lightening the rotational mass can have multiplicative effects on performance, acceleration and effort (and therefore energy) required to turn the vehicle, etc. Losing unsprung weight is very valuable.

 yah i agree, but which tires are you planning to run? gross weight is most important. unless you're tracking your car 2lbs is not going to make any difference on street.

He does track his car, he is a beginner but quickly learning.
I do agree weight of the wheel plus the tire is important, but every pound comes into account when you are balancing weight & performance.

kkruel55 02-27-2012 02:10 PM

Hopefully I get out to the track a bit this year, once the MS150 is done I should have more free weekends! >.<

I am running Ventus V12s in 275-45? up front and 305/35 in the rear. I am considering going to a thinner tire (width wise, not sidewall wise) probably Michelin PSS's. Overall weight is what matters, but I am trying to select tires based on what I think will work best... so for the same tires saving a couple pounds might make some difference.

Just not sure if it is a $3000+ difference... lol.

370Ztune 02-27-2012 02:53 PM

They say 1lb of unsprung weight is roughly equivalent to 5lbs of sprung weight. Every pound counts in a car as heavy as the Z and having less unsprung mass is helpful in acceleration and overall handling.

kkruel55 02-27-2012 03:07 PM

How much for a set of 19s, 2x9.5 and 2x10.5 in whatever color is cheapest? PM details to me, area code is 77094

i see...yah i think some stickier tires (probably go narrower but stickier) and this wheelset will net good gains, given you have improved every aspect of driving your car on track to make a difference, i think.

for street use, 5lbs gross weight difference per corner is where i really notice the difference in braking and overall handling. :)
