TPMS Malfunction? :confused:

Guyz;

I am a newbie in the car scene, but thriving in learning more.

I had an incident today, I left car in the ON position (not the engine) and my battery drained out.

The car came with that SURE SMART BATTERY SYSTEM (dont know if thats a default on all the Z.) Looked at the instructions in the sticker but car didnt turn on (maybe I did it wrong)

My friend hooked up the jumpers to his car, and it turned up. Clock and everything else got reset. But I noticed the TPMS will blink for a while then stay on even after driving 16MPH + speed.

Manual says:
If the TPMS is not functioning properly, the low
tire pressure warning light will flash for approximately
1 minute when the ignition switch is
pushed ON. The light will remain on after the 1
minute. Have the system checked by a NISSAN
dealer.
Is there a way this has to be reset? I had to for the Automatic Windows to go up.

I appreciate any help you can give me, If not I'll check with Dealer.

I'll check the tires early in the morning for a flat.

Thanks

Try giving it another reset by unplugging the battery and pumping your brakes. Rehook the battery. Turn it back on. If it is still doing it, check your tire pressures. If everything seems ok...then take it to the dealer.

TPMS came on when I had a slow leak (nail) in my right rear tire. Until I was able to get it fixed, I just topped off the air pressure. I read the manual about driving 16 MPH+. FWIW, that eventually turned off the warning signal BUT it wasn't instantaneous - drove for a couple of minutes before it reset.

Don't just check for a flat as having low pressure can cause the light to illuminate. Just get a gauge and make sure they are all up to the recommended pressure before you worry about trying to reset it.
