Hey guys, waiting for my new wheels to arrive and have been looking at tyres as will be getting 20's to replace the stock sport rims, so far from couple

Default Nitto Invo or NT05

Hey guys,

waiting for my new wheels to arrive and have been looking at tyres as will be getting 20's to replace the stock sport rims, so far from couple dealers in Aus I've been recommended the Nitto range, can get a hold of the Invo and NT05's

Invo - for the invo's
NT05 - for the nt05's

has anyone used these from the stock re050's and how they compare in not only performace wise but noise wise as well?

will be going with a 255 for front and 305 for rear.

The invo is a much weaker side wall and more of a sport tire. The nt05s are more of a street legal slick. But the nt05 definitely corners better and they will stick extremely well even in a straight line. they do work in the rain but they aren't made for it so be careful. Noise wise the invos are more quiet. But believe it or not the NT05 isn't that loud. I loved them on my mustang. My live axle mustang actually handled better. The only downside is the tread wears pretty fast on the NT05. But the invo isn't much better. If you're going performance wise and quietness, go with the NT05. If you don't care too much and want something a little more quiet that can handle in the rain go with the Invo. I've found though that the NT555 is the best. It has all the performance of the NT05, lasts longer, and works well in the rain. They aren't loud either. The only downside is the Invo has a much cooler looking tread.

thanks for your input I'm leaning more towards the NT05's, don't care so much for wet weather performance, I mean it's good to have obviously but I only commute to work when it's raining and stuck in traffic half the time.

have you driven in these with a Z though? I use my car a bit for work and the stock tyres are quite noisy, this doesn't bother me myself but sometimes when I'm on a call people can barely hear me if i'm on the freeway.

Since I run Michelins, I can't say much about the Nitto tires, what I can say after running a 255/295 setup similar to what you're looking to run is having that much difference in width is going to make it very 'fun'to drive when it is somewhat wet or you come across road grooves. Just something to be cautious of.

I have the Nitto Invos on my car. I first had 275/30/20 and 345/25/20. But now have the 285/30/20 instead of the 275s.

I have no complaints so far. They are a softer compound and have great grip. I have driven them in the rain and find no real compromises. They are pretty quiet despite their widths and size. I cannot attest to their wear as they have not been on the car long enough to see any noticeable or abnormal wear.

I would recommended them as a definite choice. I would go 275 and 305 over the 255.

Although I haven't had any of the issues Chris spoke to in his prior post.

sweet thanks for the extra input guys,

W.O.W. I see your twin turbo also... so if you have great grip, I'm sure i'll have plenty being NA still. I've also read the invo's are one of the best wet weather tyres considering they are still a sports performance tyre

I've got 9.5 +15 offset fronts coming, not sure it'll sit flush with a 275 up front? guess i'll see how much room there is during a test fit, I've just done some offset calcs and the standard rear at +30 offset will sit out 9mm more than my 9.5 +15... Can the rear wheel be chucked on the front, or is there something on the wheel/hub to prevent this happening before I try? (standard rears come with 275 tyres )

There is a bolt on the front rotor that must be taken out if you wanna see how the rear wheels sits on the front.

Just purchased some Invo's today. I recently purchased some SSR SP3 from a Z34 owner and he had 275's up front!!! Thats just too much tire up front so I went down to a 245/35.

I'll check out this bolt on the weekend, might do some test fit.

tsg-z please let me know how they are over the next couple of weeks! I won't be ordering for another 2-3 weeks still got 2 months or so before my wheels rock up.

WOW/Dai, with you guys running huge sizes, what are your widths/offsets?

The new wheels I just got are 9.5/10.5 and +22 all 4. I'm gonna put a 10mm spacer in the rear to make it +12. So my main question is the front, how wide can I go. I'm looking to put a 285 in the rear and was hoping to have a 265 in the front. With a 1" drop all around, do you think 265 will rub? Currently running a +17 in the front with a 255, so I'm thinking with the +5 in the offset, it will negate the +5mm increase (per side) of the tire.

In my head this makes sense, just wanna get more opinions...

i run a 20x10 + 27 front and 20x12 + 20 rear.

so your front will be very similar to mine. .5" difference = 12.5mm so about 6mm shorter inside/outside, but due to 5mm lower offset you will sit about 1mm inside mine. I havnt lowered mine or increased my camber from oem and i run 275 without rubbing and could prolly run a 285. So a 265 should be no issue.

Okay, I don't have the front camber arms yet and I am lowered 1" all around. So cool. That's what I'm looking to run for DD 265/285.

Also, Dai, as soon as my car gets out of the Frame shop I'll be setting up my appointment at Z1. I'll give you a heads up of when that is so if you wanna stop by we can hang out.
