For someone who cares about performance and is willing to pay for it let's compare:
Volk TE37 19 inch Concept 1- weight 15-16 pounds (9 pound weight reduction per corner)
Varstoen 2.2.2 (TE37 knockoff) 28-29 pounds 5-6 pounds heavier then stock and durability is far inferior to the Volk forged monoblock

The difference in the unsprung weight is insane, I have had 3 sets of TE/LE 37s and for some reason the simplicity of the wheel yet the concave spokes with a good sized lip looks beautiful to me....

Absolutely right! if you like the TE37 look AND care about performance, Volks is the way to go! (not the Tokyo Time Attacks...I suspect with 3 piece construction, those likely weigh quite a bit more than C1 or SL)

To me, it's a timeless design, BUT more importantly, as far as the SLs and now apparently the C1s go, they are some of the lightest and strongest wheels you can bolt up to your car.

To be honest. I didn't care for the 6 spoke look at first. But I ordered my SL's anyway because of the weight. But once I got them on the car. Wow I really like them. Plus they are light weight too! So for me now it's about looks and performance now I want to go more aggressive.

They also just released the te37 Tokyo time attack right? they should have held off on this one. Releasing updated designs quicker than it takes to get them here from Japan...

The TT covers fans of the polished deep dish 3-pc barrel look...ie, they are covering all bases.

The TE37 is my absolute favorite wheel for basically any car. If I could afford it, I'd have it in a heartbeat -- but I just can't justify spending that much for wheels.

I was in the same boat as you and my SL's are my 1st set of higher end wheels. I look at it like this: with wheels like volk, ssr, advan ect... It's more of an investment. People sell their used wheels for a little less then the price of new ones. (it helped me that Vivid racing got me great pricing! Thanks Vivid) But none the less still an investment. Out of everything on my car, including the Z, they probaly have the best depreciation rate.

I prefer the SL's to the C1's

At least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself.

Not sure on that yet. I'll update this thread when I have that info.

Thanks for posting the numbers. I agree, unsprung weight is an area that can make a HUGE difference in how a car feels. Also, braking is effected dramatically by heavier wheels.
