I wore out the fronts from the first set due to the understeer of the 265. The reaes are at the wear bar. They had 198 autox runs and about 5 track days

Second set has 100 runs and 4 days or something

i think if you can get 7-8k miles from high performance tires (like RE11's) that's super. if i lived in LA and carving the canyons they will probably only last me 3K miles. that's how often i was replacing SP8000's i was running at the time (like 15yrs ago..).

so this is why for someone looking to dd their cars + fun, ContiDW's are a great choice.

Did anyone comment on how the DWs were on at the track? Let me go back and review this thread

The RE-11 and the AD08 are both pretty awesome tires. I found the RE-11s to be a lot nicer in the rain (when they had tread : ) and the AD08s to be way more talkative on the track.

On a hot day at Mid-Ohio as a novice they both started to get a little slippy toward the end of a session but nowhere near as greasy as the stock (RE050A) tires.

I started out on used RE-11s 265/305 and got 3-4 track days and several thousand highway miles out of htem. So far on the 275/295 AD08s I've got 8 track days (iirc 5 were wet) and probably 10k highway miles. I figure I'll be able to run them for the first weekend of the year or maybe second before I get some 18" wheels and new rubber.

What wheels are these on? I'm thinking of getting 275/295 AD08's, but I'm not sure about the fit on the stock sport rays.

Both were on 9.5/10.5 TE-37's. Some folks have run those sizes on the stock sport wheels so I think it should work out ok.

I just put around 2k on Conti DWS tires. I think they're good street tires and the best bang for your buck. They have one of the highest rated tread life I've seen, dry grip is comparable to stock RE50's, wet grip is very good, and it is pretty quite and offers a softer ride. Cons include, softer tire wall so it feels a little sluggish which is a big let down for me. I bought these tires after reading the hundreds of good reviews on the discountire site. In the end, my opinion is you get a lot of pluses with these tires but one major let down. If you are interested in these tires here's a good video comparison.

Ok so I'm curious now. I won't be taking my Z to the track ever and I usually drive fairly slow, mostly because I'm lazy while driving lol. Plus if I wanted to go fast or to the track I'd just take the bike But what's a good tire at a decent price, of course the cheaper the better lol. I'm more concerned about mileage instead of grip though I would like decent grip. Does anyone have suggestions? I still have stock tires but will get getting wheels and tires soon and have no clue what tires to get. I'll be running 255/30/20 in the front and 285/30/20 in the rear though.
