New Wheel Pics

13 Attachment(s)
As many now know I had some issues with my last wheels F/S . Mike ( White Dragon & UAM ) stepped up to the plate .. I chose to go with the Strasse Forged
R10 Wheels in a matte black finish with a polished step lip . No more chrome for me . Also purchased the race prep package for the wheels. Makes them lighter. The transaction was smooth with a eta of little over a mnth . During this process Mike answered all of my questions and he delivered as promise..

I am a huge Volk fanboy . I finally wanted to step up to a 3 piece wheel and get away from the tuner look . I was hustled by Forged Specialties . Left a bad taste in my mouth . Decided to see what Strasse Forged is about .. Boxes showed up . Took 5 weeks from the time of order to show up on my door step ..... Not Bad !!!! Opened the boxes and man ....... These things are Gorgeous ... Inspected every wheel and No issues at all .. No thin paint , No weird markings , No ugly finish ... Simply Beautiful ... I could pick up the rear wheel with No problems ... These things are Freaking light. These are lighter than my Oem wheels .. Thats a plus .. Off to install and here is the picks ....

I just want to thank Strasse Forged for making such awesome wheels and Mike for being there to step up to the plate and putting my confidence back into a honest and real wheel maker .. Thanx Guys !!!!!

What do you mean by different and used ??

W.O.W. 370Z 01-02-2012 02:48 PM

Maybe its the pic but the outer barrel looks used or previously mounted. The inner barrel looks new. Look like black streaks of some sort.

I c .... The spokes were a little dirty but everything cleaned up really nice .. Even the offsets that I thought were going to be to aggressive are spot on ...

W.O.W. 370Z 01-02-2012 03:02 PM

Thanks for the review NeverBoneStck! Glad you like your new wheels, car looks great!!!! Very cleanly done. Let's set up a shoot soon.

Outer lips/barrels are high polished, not touched on the mounting side. Centers and Inner barrels are completely powder coated. And no our wheels don't go out with used parts lol

bullitt5897 01-02-2012 03:11 PM

Glad we could help Blaine! I knew those offsets would work well for you and I am glad you love your new wheels! It took 30 days to have these made for Blaine and the weights are really light! And I mean sub 20lbs if I recall... As far as wow370z's accusation of used wheels he is way off!!! Blaine can attest that we made sure there wasn't a single flaw in his set. As with all my customers u get my personal cell phone number to text or call me with any questions. Blaine I know we had many of talks ;) even some late night ones lol I am here for you guys to make sure your buying experience is flawless and rewarding!

Jamaica 01-02-2012 03:11 PM

Vendors sometimes offer deals on used setups. Legitimate question based on pics he posted.

We send or hire photographers across the country. I'll have someone from Strasse email you bud! :tiphat:

NeverBoneStck 01-02-2012 03:29 PM

In all honesty there was not one flaw on these wheels .. Yeah there was some shop dust but Nothing to complain about .. I have never had a bad experience with wheels until Forged Specialties and I looked over my new Strasse Forged Wheels and nothing wrong ... Simply beautiful wheels ..

I had a bad experience with chrome ... Started to flake and bubble after 4 months ...

bullitt5897 01-02-2012 05:21 PM

Blaine chose polished lips to get passed the downsides of running a chrome lip. Polish takes more maintenance but it won't chip like chrome and it is lighter

NeverBoneStck 01-02-2012 05:58 PM

These wheels are really light ... It's almost scary how light they are ...

370Z JT 01-02-2012 08:09 PM

Are they 19"?

NeverBoneStck 01-02-2012 08:15 PM

The are 20"

370Z JT 01-02-2012 08:17 PM

Dang. That's 20" wheels weighing less than 20 lbs simply awesome.

bullitt5897 01-03-2012 02:15 PM

:eek::eek:I think Blaine weighed his rear wheels in at around 17lbs!!!!!!! Insane...

W.O.W. 370Z 01-03-2012 02:20 PM

Pics of wheels on scale? That's great.

What widths?

Weight is not a figment of the imagination or a figure of speech; it's a form of measurement. Mathematically there is NO way that wheel can be 17lbs.

The setup is beautiful. I really like how clean it is but please do not feed forum members the BS that a 6061 T6 aluminum wheel at these widths with the back pads required to clear brakes on that forging will weigh what you're stating they do.

how the heck did a 20inch three piece mesh wheel come in lighter than my 19 inch TE37SL...

19x9.5 te37sl : 20.4 lbs
19x10.5 te37sl: 20.8 lbs

NBS's 20inch 3pc 'race prepped' wheel: <20 lbs

O_O

I knew this would start a wheel weight war .. I should of taken a pick of the wheel on my scale .. Yes..... It's the same scale I use to weigh myself ... Nothing fancy ...

not a war, it just doesn't come to be very easily that a bigger wheel is lighter than one of the lightest wheels on the market. they are what they are...and besides, how awesome would it be to see a 20 inch rim sitting on a scale reading only 17ish lbs haha

call it...a search for information

W.O.W. 370Z 01-03-2012 06:06 PM

A big claim like that will draw scrutiny. You had to know that.:o

I have pics of a 19 x 13 mesh weighing in at like 19.2lbs... Blaine's is a 19" center so with it being narrower I know it was in the same ballpark... Even if his scale is off by a few pounds that's still lighter than a TE37!!!!

NeverBoneStck 01-03-2012 06:13 PM

Maybe my scale is really forgiving ...

phelan 01-03-2012 06:16 PM

on a diet NBS? ;)
