I have pics of a 19 x 13 mesh weighing in at like 19.2lbs... Blaine's is a 19" center so with it being narrower I know it was in the same ballpark... Even if his scale is off by a few pounds that's still lighter than a TE37!!!!

Post em!!!

Post something like this same weight but a 19x13 ;)

Yeah the mesh is the heaviest center of any brand... For some brands it's up to several pounds heavier. Also wow370 your comparing apples to oranges... Step lip wheels are much lighter than flat lip wheels. Race prep on these wheels can also make a huge difference! Also different style faces weigh differently... There is a lot you can do to shave weight without sacrificing performance. Blaine wanted a light wheel similar to his Volkswagen design he had before and guess what he got just what he wanted and more with the extra lightness of race prep! These are light wheels and they are a lot light than my 370z wheels! Lol

I misstated the size... I stand by that I made a mistake those Porsche TT wheels were done about a year ago... And we have done several sets since then... Mesh is always the popular design. We do have a 370z coming out with 7 spoke mesh concave! It's going to be one sick setup!

Don't get it ?????

phelan 01-04-2012 09:57 AM

so...what's the weight on these? lol

issforged 01-04-2012 10:16 AM

To put everything to rest and put this thread back on track since it's unfair to the OP. We will start a new thread with images and videos of actual weights of components, hardware, cut forgings, raw forgings, tricks of the trade to have wheels appear lighter on a scale, and put real wheel weights into perspective for the community.

There are wheel companies on this forum that claim to unrealistic wheel weights and we find it unfair that a person seeking a light weight wheel is bamboozled by trickery, and illusions in order to move a product.

corbin09 01-04-2012 10:22 AM

370z fitment... Would love to see that thread.

corbin09 01-04-2012 10:40 AM

Strasse Has not posted any unrealistic numbers and have always been up front on their wheel weights.

For Example: (I posted this earlier with a retraction of a statement I made.)

No one in this thread is trying to be deceptive. Blaine weighed his wheels on his scale at home it came up 17lbs... his scale most likely is a little lean. I posted up similar wheels in size and the weights are close... I Have measured my previous set of 20's in mesh 10" width and 12" width and they were both under 25lbs... Some of the lightest wheels I have ever held! So to divert this back on topic again.

CONGRATS BLAINE!!!! and HAPPY :driving: on your new wheels!

SFChris 01-04-2012 01:15 PM

No wheel company made any weight claims here. The customer himself weighed the wheels. If the scale was off, that's definitely out of everyone else's control.

They've already posted links and photos one of our 19 inch wheels weighing 19.2 lbs and a 20 inch wheel weighing at 21.8. For 3 piece forged and not being monoblock which most people think are the lightest, I'd say thats preeeeeetty damn good

To get back to the OP's topic, thanks for the kind words guys. Blaine, great great great clean work on your ride. Looks perfect!

NeverBoneStck 01-04-2012 01:30 PM

Thanx guys for the compliments .. In regards to the scale .... When I received the wheel and picked up the rear it was really light .. I put it on my 15 year old bathroom scale and it said 17.8 lbs .. I am not trying to mislead anyone or post false claims ..the wheels are sick and Strasse had exceeded my expectations ..

Stop for a second, relax, and breath in and out slowly. At no moment did we mention ANY wheel brands name. No need to defend yourself if you're not guilty of anything
