Default Temporary tires. Need help!!

My buddy picked up some slightly used 235/50/18 Yokohama Avid Envigors from work today. Will these fit my rear wheels fine or will it be to narrow? I know they are no where near what the z needs but I really don't want to buy tires when I'm a month or two from new wheels. Thanks guys

They're narrow, but they'll work. I've got 225 50/18 for snow tires.

Just a little addition in case anyone cares. The traction is all right with these tires but the car sways a lot now when turning. I am assuming it is because of the high sidewall on this tire but I'm not completely sure.

I'm surprised you're not getting additional traction issues from your setup due to the small difference between your front and rear overall tire diameter.

Your high sidewall is probably causing that swaying in turns.

I certainly wouldn't run this setup for a long time but if you take it easy it should be fine for a temporary purpose.

In a straight line I get decent traction, but any turn it changes drastically. I think I am going to go ahead and order Super Sports in a few weeks because this swaying scares me. I want my solid feeling back.

Definitely get to a matched setup as quickly as possible. Until then take it easy through the corners with the mis-matched set. They can be pretty dangerous.

Don't have to tell me twice. I was really hoping these would hold me over until I get some new wheels but I don't feel safe riding on these. Guess I will just have to suck it up and order some tires.
