Default Wheel Locks

I was thinking about getting some wheel locks for my '10 Nismo. Are the dealer locks all pretty much "unique" or will the same key open all? Also was thinking about these...

Gorilla Automotive 63621 Standard Mag Guard Locks (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - Pack of 4

Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 63621 Standard Mag Guard Locks (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - Pack of 4: Automotive

Any thoughts?

Or maybe both? Dealer and Gorilla's?

Thanks,

I guess its the standard mag and not the acorn - so the link above should work? Whats the deal with the spinning sleve?

If you're on stock wheels, those will work. I'm not sure what you mean by spinning sleeve, but some lug nuts have a spinning base that's supposed to prevent scratching of the wheels at the lug nut seat.

I think i figured it out. The spinning sleeve stops this form happening since the outer part of the nut spins, the wrench can not grab on to it....

Looks like the gorilla guards are better than the OEM's

Ordering one tonight - and i think we need the standard and not the acorn nuts.

Bottom line is if they want your rims, they will take them by any means necessary.

Ordered the Gorilla locks w/ spinning sleeve - just for a little peace of mind. Would feel guilty for saving $15 for these if my rims ever got stolen.

yeah, I personally wouldn't put wheel locks on. they don't do much so to me it's a waste of money. at work we remove them without keys all the time. it's not hard, just hammer a wheel lock removal socket on and turn. but i suppose if it makes you feel better than I'd choose the gorilla ones. But again, I think they're more of a hassle. If you go get tires, you have to make sure you give it to them and that they give it back. We also lose a lot of locks too. Sure you can order one with the code but eh that's too much work for me. anyway most people who steal rims don't go for stockers, they go for the premium aftermarket wheels. funny thing is though I have some on my mustang. I put the 2011 19" wheels on and the guy threw in some locks. I figured if I got them for free it wouldn't hurt. :P

I think you can do that with the stock locks - but the spinning sleeve should prevent that from happening shouldnt it?

I guess its not a 100% guarantee - but I would be upset w/ myself if saved $15 on the locks and came out to find my car on bricks one day.

I guess peace of mind more than anything.
