As to the problem with the tire, yes the dealer should have taken care of it, but it seems dealers are not really interested in these things or presenting options. All I can tell you is try to be patience with them, and do not lose your cool. Trying that with some issues that I am having. You can always ask to talk to the owner and then go to Nissan. It may be slow and painful.

Ok, with throwing all of this around, is there a good tire, that will work well all around. Now that I have a real car for autocross, just want something that will stick better and that may mean just spending the money.

I'm still on my stock bridgestone at 25k miles and they are still good ... do you guys burnt out every time you drive or something?

danegrey 12-14-2011 06:46 AM

I had a 84 VW GTI a long time ago (great little car) and I wore out front tires down to core on the inside of the tires. It was simply just the way I was driving a bit harder than normal. I can understand the difference and it is really related to driving style.

tonybui -- what is your feeling on the stock bridgestone?

honestly i am VERY satisfied with the factory ADVAN sports that came on the nismo. they perform amazing in the rain and dry weather is very predictable. not to mention they last longer than the V12's i have now.

Really? WOW! I drive fast and take turns but dont really do burnouts or crap like that. Maybe 3 or 4 times since I have had the car.

I'm not a pro and my opinion might be bias. But the stock bridgestone are pretty good to me, very adhesive to the road surface and can be a little loud when wearing out but it's a sports car so I can live with it. At 25k miles it still handles pretty good and I don't drive like a grandma, not agressive all the time either (just time to time)

My front tires are about 60% and the rear are about 30%. I will get a set of rear new and once they all worn out I will get a different set of tires that will last me longer than 25-30k miles. But overall (to me) they are not as bad as to most members here on the forum.

additional note to my tire replacement, have not replaced the tires, not sure when or with what, but on 1/28/12, the right rear collected another nail.

The dealership I went to, stated that they could not do anything with it because it was too close to the sidewall. They sent me down the street to discount tire. They not only fixed the new hole, but also re-repaired the old hole, rebalanced the tire, and made all the tires look nice. What surprised me, is that there was no charge for any of this. I do not know if the dealership called or what happen. The tires are still the original. So I was impressed.

You need to try better tires. The OEM tires are horrible in terms of price, wear, noise and grip. I took them off the car with 700 miles or so on it, one of the best thing I did to the car

What tires are you running?

I thinking of going with Advan to replace my pilots
