Hankook Ventus V12 vs Kumho Ecsta SPT
Which tire would you say was better for me? I do not drive aggressively at all. I'm looking for the tire that would get me the most overall mileage. My Z is NOT my daily driver and I only put on about 4000 miles in a year. Never driven in the snow/winter and rarely driven in the rain.

I have had the other set you mentioned and I would still by the Hankooks over those. |
Id have to go Hankook>Kumho

Hankook v12 evo's are horrible tires. If you want better for the same price get the kumho LE, or if you want the best in that price range, get the sumitomo htr zIII. On the other hand if money is not an issue, go with michelin Pilot super sports.
Edit: if you don't care about performance I guess the evo is okay, but I would recommend those other tires if you want to keep the Z's performance! |

You drive like i do go with the hankooks. tread pattern is good.
if you do get caught in a rain Strom they handle well above average. for the money imo worth the price |
Ill post up some test results of the evo compared to the sumitomo and kumho tires, also compared to the factory re050a and michelin pilot super sport, you guys will see the difference. I also noticed how much better the re050as are after I drove my friends car on evos.

For what it's worth I had Kumhos on my Mazda 3 and absolutely hated them. They wore quickly, leaked, and the traction was garbage. Can't speak to the specific tires you are looking at thought. I also wouldn't get the Hankooks either though.

I had Hankooks on my 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse and liked them a lot.. I'm going with them.. Decent price and for my driving style they suit me well. I do not race or drive aggressively at all. I'm just looking for a standard tire that will give me decent mileage at a low price.

im on my second set of rear V12's. i cant say anything bad about them. they stayed strong until the metal was showing.
they wont last as long as the factory nismo ADVAN sports, nor is the traction as good, but they are almost half the price! |

You know...I am in the same boat. I'm around 28k miles and my stock tires are starting to look pretty bad. I've heard so many great things about the Continental Extreme Contact DW, but they are more expensive than the Hankook's, but their tread life is rated a bit higher. For someone who doesn't race, would you really be losing that much in quality by going with the V12s? I think we all know about the squishy side walls, but being used just as a daily driver...how bad could they be?
