Nismo wheels.. screwed over twice..

So I've been trying to get myself a set of Nismo wheels with tires at the best possible price for the past 2 months now. Twice I was the winning bidder on ebay for a slightly used set with tires. And twice the seller has backed out of the sale. This last seller sent me an invoice, accepted my payment, sent me an email stating he was going to send me the wheels via UPS and then today sends me a refund of my money MINUS $85! Why should I have to lose $85 for receiving nothing?! I'm livid... that being said, anyone interested in selling me a set of Nismo wheels with tires, please message me!

Thechidz 11-24-2011 09:02 PM

make sure you get that 85 bucks back sounds like a scam to me

DeEePiDDy 11-24-2011 09:07 PM

I used Paypal with a credit card.. I called Paypal and theyre working on it now.. and I'm going to have my credit card work on it as well. I'm just livid that I'm not getting my wheels!!!

Yeah that sounds like a scam for sure.

007MI6 11-24-2011 09:15 PM

+1 Scam. Paypal should take care of you on this one. They have always done well by me.

Also, that sucks! I know the feeling. Been there, done that.

IERACER 11-24-2011 11:19 PM

Whoa! Sometimes its just worth paying extra to get brand new stuff from an authorized dealer!

LakeShow 11-24-2011 11:51 PM

Wow! Maybe you should post a link to the auction or maybe someone we should look out for. I have been searching on ebay myself for the Nismo rims.

I wish I could say the same about PayPal. I sold a headlight for $500 the buyer stripped it , melted it and sent it back to me. PayPal refunded him the money an made me jump through hoops for 6 months hoping I'll quit chasing them. I had pulled the cash so my account went negative and they sent me to collections. I fvckin hate PayPal lol

just figured out an easy way to steal shlt and get away with it

happytheman 11-28-2011 12:05 AM

Can I assume you gave the seller negative feedback? :(

TheGreatOne 11-28-2011 02:38 PM

Did the seller reserve teh right to sell it locally also?

I just ask cause that happens with cars all the time. You win the big, but thye have it posted in the locally too, then they figure its easier and cut you out...BUT, you should loose your paypal fees because of that (I imagine thats the $85)

tjlazer 11-28-2011 02:41 PM

I got mine on eBay last year. Sounds like this seller is shady. How was his feedback? Whats the item #?

No, he did not. Also I SHOULD NOT lose the $85 paypal fees. I am an experienced eBay and Paypal user (over 10 years) and spoke to Paypal as well. They told me that I should get a full refund and that he the seller should be responsible to the deduction of Paypal fees. In the past I have received refunds on Paypal as well and never had a fee pulled from the amount. Its different from when you receive a payment.

JollyGoodChap 11-28-2011 07:26 PM

ebay is buyer beware. I never buy big ticket items from there as its' too sketchy. GL with everything

DeEePiDDy 11-28-2011 08:46 PM

I also contact my credit card company about the $85 and they agreed with me that I should not be responsible for it so it Paypal doesn't come through which I doubt will be the case, good ol' chase bank will!

ClemsonWill 12-01-2011 12:53 PM

I'm not a big paypal fan either. I bought some sporting event tickets on there. The seller intentionally misrepresented what he had. Paypal refused to send me my money back because they were tickets and wouldn't be worth anything by the time I sent them back to the seller. So I canceled the CC transaction. I got my money and a free set of tickets in the end.

Good luck with your situation. You are probably better off buying a used set from a trusted forum member.

DeEePiDDy 12-01-2011 06:09 PM

Right now I have both my credit card company and paypal working on the case. That being said, I found a 3rd seller of the Nismo wheels and got myself a set! They arrived today!!

eddieconfetti 12-01-2011 06:39 PM

congrats. nismo wheels are sex.

haitech 12-02-2011 01:34 AM

3rd times a charm.

DeEePiDDy 12-02-2011 08:42 PM

Yup! Right now they're sitting on my living room floor. I'm waiting for my Hankook Ventus V12's to come in so they can be installed!

TheGreatOne 12-04-2011 05:57 PM

congrats on getting the wheels and I meant to write you "shouldn't" have to pay that $85. typo lol

MattP725 12-05-2011 09:18 AM

I have learned over 10 years using paypal that you have to be very diligent when selling something... too many scams out there. Tracking numbers and pictures galore are your friend.

Sorry about the wheels... open a dispute... paypal always favors the buyer... it is the burden of the seller to prove they did the right thing.

DeEePiDDy 12-05-2011 06:33 PM

The wheels get installed tomorrow afternoon... I CAN'T WAIT!!!

DeEePiDDy 12-07-2011 05:52 PM

Installed! Check out pics in my Journal!

LakeShow 12-07-2011 10:32 PM

Nice looks good. How much did the install run you?

haitech 12-08-2011 01:34 AM

Now you want me to work to see your pics? lol

phunk 12-08-2011 06:34 PM

There are no paypal fees when a refund is issued, so there is not even an excuse for the "seller" to think he should keep money. If you refund the full amount, all the fees are refunded. If you refund half the total, half the fees are refunded.

So ya, you should get the full total back.

Synack 12-09-2011 10:18 AM

How much are you looking to spend? I'm trying to get myself a set of these: S5:F Wheel - Gunmetal - S5:F - Wheels

My Nismo wheels are curb rashed but it's nothing horribly bad. I'm currently sanding down the areas that are messed up and painting them over.

Yes, but it would have to be a really good trade or sale. I love these things but I am thinking about new wheels.

The install was free actually because I bought rear tires and my tire guy hooked me up...
