What will fit my taste for winter setup?

I'm getting ready for upcoming winter as I heard from few people that it will snow a lot this winter so I'm planning on getting a winter setup.

I'm no expert in sizes and offsets so I had hard time looking up @ tirerack so I would appreciate some advices on wheel offsets and tire. I heard blizzaks from bridge stone and ice xi is popular around here.

I'm not sure about the budget as of now but what is reasonable?

I currently have volks g2 with re-11's....yeap a shop helped me out with offsets :driving:

Anyways I'm looking for descent rims/tires. sizes preferred is 18-19.

P.S should I raise the ride height with winter setup?

18's are the best set-up to go for winter, cheaper tires and not as wide. I can tell you that when I put my winter set-up on, it was pointless due to the car being low, and driving through snow, plowing every street isn't any better than getting stuck on summers.

The set up I used is OEM 18'' wheels from the 370z, with Wintersport M3 Dunlop tires. Worked really well, I personally think it's the best setup you can use on the Z. Most aftermarket 18's look ugly on the Z anyways.

i run 18"track edition 350Z wheels with Hankook iPikes for winter.

Stock height should be fine, i'm in Calgary and travel to Dawson Creek with no problems, just be smart about where you go...if you stay in Van i can't see you having any problems.

On Tirerack, put your car in box 1, then click winter in box 2.

I bought wheels and tires from them (225/50-18) 2 years ago for $1100. That price was mounted, balanced, etc.
