Search for 19" Rims
Hello all, i have spent some time the past week scouting the internet for rims and have come to the conclusion that i am looking for something with these specs:
Size: - 19x10.0 or 19x10.5 for rear - 19x9.0 for front Color: - black with red detailing (be it a red stripe around the edge, or the windows of the rim itself being red) Price: - something reasonable , perhaps max $500/each So the problem i have is that for the rims i have found one of those criteria didn't match. Either the manufacturer didn't produce that size rims, or they did but each rim cost $1200+. If any of you have any suggestions or ideas for rims that could potentially fit in the category listed above, feel free to post them. If you know a website where i can find them myself that would be great too. |

I wouldn't worry about color as much as the style, find the style you like and you can always have them powder coated or painted after...
there are a lot of wheels that fit that criteria, i've been honestly looking for over a year for a set of wheels i really like, it all takes time, and there are always new ones or styles popping up. I'm not a fan of spending money twice, when i could have spent it once and been done. That's my 2 cents i hope it helps a bit.

I agree with memory. Finding the style is the most important thing. Are you looking for wheels with lips or concave? mesh or simple spokes? Forged or cast? Agressive offsets?

Im not big on offset, and forged/cast/flow formed doesnt really matter either. The latest thing that i found that seemed to fit the style i wanted was these things from Savini:
I customized the color on them to see how they look, and the result is more or less what i'm looking for. I've also looked at some TE37 look alikes with 5 and 6 spoke designs with similar color schemes. You guys mentioned power coating/painting, how much does something like that go for? Becuase again thats an added cost right, so if i can get them the color i want them and be done with it once and for all it be good i think. |

Thank you all for your input. After some more research i have finally come to find exactly what i want. I came to the conclusion that the matt black/pure black rims on black cars just get lost and the detail is no noticeable. The red stripe seems to just vanish in different lighting and angles, unless its pretty wide and a bright red. So i decided to move away from that style and explore something more suitable for a black 370z. My choice:
Vertini Magic Black Machined Face 20x10.0 25 offset Rear 20x9.0 20 offset Front and I would likely run Falken FK-452 285/30/20 Rear 255/35/20 Front Found a very reasonable deal at getyourwheels.com : Link Here is a link to what the rims would look like: Link Now the only question that remains is, with wheels this big will i need additional spacers or suspension modifications to make them fit under the arches? Also if any of you runs 20" wheels i was wondering how much rougher does the ride get? I find it actually quite comfortable on the stock 18" but these babies will have a lot less rubber on them, so im kind of hesitant right now. |

well i did a simple offset calculation and it seems like i will gain 38mm of offset in the front, and 10mm in the back when we compare that set up with the stock 18x8 18x9 rims. I might need to invest in some spacers for the back to get a more flush look but i'd have to see it first.
As for lowering the car, for now i don't plan on doing so, i am thinking the 20" rims will fill up quite a big chunk of the space under the arches. Plus i am most likely occasionally driving the car in the winter, and i need the extra clearance. I might invest in some adjustable suspension in the future to accommodate for this but for now there is no budget or plans for it. |
