What about Hankook's
I've done some research on this site as well as on line. And hear some good things about these tires. Any member here using these tires. And what is your
opinion. Hankook Ventus V12 evo Thanks oh i can get a complete set installed for 1,299.22 tax and all. |
Many people are using them and they love them!
|
Waiting on a set to come in myself, should be here sometime this week. I'll let you know what I think.
|
They're fine. Great treadwear compared to the stockers. Sidewalls aren't as stiff, though.
|
They are a good street tire.
Grip level is good. Tread life is good. Wet traction is good. The sidewalls are soft, though, so you will lose some steering feel. The tire will roll over a bit on the sidewall before it takes a set when you enter a corner. That leads to a bit of a squishy feel. |

Now, how safe is that for daily driving, I dunno... I also have Hankook's all around but mine are inflated @ 35 psi.. All in all, I like them.. |
my opinion: no
|
Price seems a little high for hankooks. I paid close to that amount for my RE-11's
|
I have them, and they are ok. Price is good. They aren't as grippy as the OEMs, and the traction control kicks in a lot more now. Hindsight, I wish I spent a little more and got a better, stickier tire.
|
Thanks for all the good advice. After i posted the Tire guy called backed and lowered the price to 1097.42. since it's my DD i like the idea of a better ride.
after these Bridgestones it should ride and be a little more quiet! and still handle better then most. as a side note i can't believe i got almost 30,000 on them, with still some thread |
if you want comfort, quiet ride, and performance in the same sentence, get the conti DW's.
|
They're okay, too squishy for me. $1097 sounds more reasonable.

The DW's are great tires. Quiet, comfy, good grip and relatively cheap. |

I am not a fan, personally. They are not a bad tire though. |
If you are just DDing / driving normally, then the V12s are awesome. To me they cannot compair to the Yokohama ADVANs that are stock on the NISMO. I replaced my rears with V12 and I can definitely feel the squish. I had intended on going with the V12s all around, but I decided against it and rather have the ADVANs with their 180 treadwear rating. I got 25k outta the last set of rears and I do a lot of "spirited" driving. Hope this helps......

Have you checked out the R-S3?
The Ventus R-S3 recently won the Grass Roots Motorsports tire test. This tire beat the mighty R-11 and StarSpec, among others.
Now if you go to any auto-x you see everybody in the street tire classes running R-S3's. Or do what I did and buy used RE-11's at half the price... |
Im currently running the V12s. They are a pretty good street tire for daily driving. Wet traction is great. Dry traction is good but could be better. I like the tread life on these, I wore my stock Bridgestones down to the wires in the rear in under 20k. Sidewalls a little soft as everyone has stated. I think this is a good choice for a daily driver. I believe I paid under $1000 for all 4, maybe even closer to $900 so you may wanna shop around.
|
Dude, the V12s are nowhere close to the RS3. It's like saying my Cube is faster than GTR because they are both Nissans.
As for the RS3, I think they have very limited sizes in 19s. You are going to have a tough time seeing it on the 370 |

my bad, thought the last poster was in reference of the rs-3. hard to read from a cell phone
