Looking at a rear pair of Continental ExtremeContact all-season tires to go along with the OEM Potenza summer tires in the front. Is this a bad idea or can I make it work? Pictures below to compare the tread patterns. The other financially comparable option would be getting a single Potenza rear tire. These two seem to be my only two choices as I've just been looking at used tires and need them fast. Which option would serve me better?
For context, I got a nail in the sidewall of one of my rear tires the other day. I would replace all 4, but I'm currently stuck (until June) in a suboptimal part of the US with absolutely awful roads, so I'm looking for a quick and cheap solution for the time being. Not trying to buy a brand new set only to run into another damn nail. Bridgestone Potenza ![]() Continental ExtremeContact |
