TPMS vs. tire guage
I was just curious, whats more accurate the TPMS or your average tire pressure gauge? I have a 2010 Camaro SS which gives the actual numbers at each corner. The gauge I have seems to read about 4-5psi lower than what the TPMS states. Being that the 370z doesn't give a reading and my 280z and 300zx are too old to even have TPMS I'm just wondering which I should go off? I recently filled the tires on my 370z to the gauges measured 35psi but if it's actually off by 4-5psi then that possibly means I filled my tires to 39-40psi which would be too much. I know most just pick a gauge and stick with it but when you have a car that gives the reading do you go by the gauge or the car? Thanks for the help

If I had a discrepancy that large, I would try a couple of different gauges and see where the anomaly is.

Did you use a digital tire gauge? Mine was within 1 pound of my wife's car tpms reading and also within 1 pound of my motorcycle tpms reading. Yes my C14 has tpms and it saved me one time.

I have one like this:
VIAIR 2" Tire Gauges - VIAIR Tire Gauges Reviews But it is made by Bluepoint (snap-ON) and is encased in rubber. It is compact and never let me down. I am curious to see how good this one is: TPGDL150, Gauge, Tire Pressure, Digital, Backlit, Blue-Point |
Either of those are the types of tire gauges people should be buying as they are more accurate than a standard cheap gauge.

been using this one for a couple of years. i bought 2 and both are within 0.1psi of each other and within 0.2psi of another analog guage i have so i consider these pretty accurate.
