What time of soap? Zipwax car wash soap is what i use on my rays and the more pricey soap on the car. Is that good or dish soap hand soap?? Just throwing a few things out there so i can narrow it down some. Thanks again...

Wheel cleaners have some pretty strong acids in them like at the car wash, even the touchless ones stay away from. They are really meant for super dirty wheels like on big trucks 18 wheelers and whatnot.

Yep.. Also I wouldn't use dish soap either.. Most have degreasers in them that will pull the wax right off your car. Probably not as big a deal for wheels unless you've waxed them too..
I just use regular old car wash soap and wash each one by hand with a microfiber cloth after I'm done cleaning the car. It's kind of a pain but that's part of the joy of owning aftermarket wheels.

all WORK Wheels comes with clear coat on the lip and also on the painted face.
It's to prevent oxidation and keep them high polish / shinny. Using wheels cleaner might damage the clear coat.

So the cheaper car wash soap like zipwax should be fine for the wheels?

never, never, never use dish washing soap on your car. yes its good at getting the wax off if you plan to clay then reapply a protective coating but it will also eat up plastic parts.
i know from experience. |
