If your tire guy is correct, all the sports cars would be vibrating like a vibrator since they all have huge tires!
I'm in agreement, I've had wider then stock tires on many vehicles, and the vibration has never been there or worse then stock. Although, I don't get vibrations on my cars, when I get new tires - they are always good. I do think it is the wheels.

You should ask them to put it on the spinner, just look for any visual wobbles. How much weight did it take when you put them on?

It's a pretty reputable place (forum sponsor), that has some good equipment. They have worked with me very nicely, but we still haven't fixed it completely. The first time, they shipped the fronts back, and found out it had one tire that was bad. This time, we are trying to see what the next step is.

i have 275 front, no vibration at all at any speed... its like stock on smooth road, a little bit of tracking on rough road (where the steering wheel sorta pulls into the ruts). in other words, everything perfectly normal and expected from large sticky tires.

rather than ship wheels and tires back and forth, just go to a local tire shop and have them figure it out?

Seller is responsible for the vibration, started on first drive, so they are taking care of everything. No local experts anyway (NE is different). My suspect of the wheels is getting stronger with the comments.

Bump...no one else has an opinion - there are many of you with wider front tires, please chime in if you have vibrations or not. Thanks.

I had a bad vibration from around 65-80 like you are describing. At the time, I was on the OEM alignment with my 19" SSR wheels on and blown front shocks. After I got an alignment and my front shocked replaced, the vibration is much less noticeable. There's still a slight vibration, but I blame it on my spacers.

285/35/19 RE-11's on stock Nismo front rim, no abnormal vibrations. I do get the alignment checked reguarly though. Been about 8,000 miles on the RE-11's so far.

No rubbing. Stock Nismo suspension, no spacers. Went to a 305 in the rear, and it did wonders for the understeer.

275/35-18 Hankooks and 285/30-18 AD-08s. Neither of them have any unusual vibrations.
