Scratched Wheel Woes....

ouch... but yah, that's a typical repair most wheel repair shops deal with so you can probably get that fixed.

Definitely a realist - life's too short to be a pessimist at heart. I've got my curb rash coming - just a question of when. Besides, the wife's driving the car sometimes now.

Thanks for the pics - judging from the all opinions here, should be a relatively easy fix!

You're welcome for the pics! Well, not saying that your wife is a crappy driver or anything (hell, I screwed up too), but having an additional driver increases the likeliness somewhat doesn't it?

Happy, that is nothing. U will be fixed in no time. My first brand new car, a 2001 acura integra, I curbed shortly after getting it....in a bank parking lot. I never knew about wheel repair at that time

How much is a repair? I only have 1-inch marks so probably won't repair...but still curious..

I got an email back from the mobile repair outfit, and they said that my damage was definitely repairable and would run me between $125-$150. I say that's a steal if it turns out well, when compared to the $750 that a new wheel would run me!

Thanks for the recommend, Beach! I will be setting an appt. with this outfit hopefully this week and will be sure to let you know more soon!

It's my understanding that Nissan is being really tight-lipped about the paint code for the 40th. If you find out what it is, please post it back here so others can benefit!

will do , i damage a front wheel befor and i had sent them out to repair
and the shop refuse to do it after having the wheel for 2 days, they tell me they cant find the right color to match it and if they repaint the wheel it wont match the others.

so i bite the bullet and bought a new one from nissan. never again

i might as well fix the wheel and powder coat all of them and it whould of been cheaper

lesson learnd !

When i bought the car i got the rim insurance for $500 for five years coverage, i hit a bank curb too, but got it refinished already. It was funny cause it happened after i realized i payed all that money and was so careful and had no scratches then rub rub a dub, insurance has worked good. I did notice though that the silver color was slightly duller than the factory coating. I might be crazy but they look a little duller.

Made appointment with mobile wheel repair outfit this coming Wednesday. I asked about the process. It takes approx. two hours and goes like so:

Remove tire from vehicle
Remove tire from wheel
Grind, repair
Paint black
Paint OEM color
Paint clear coat
Bake
Paint clear coat
Bake

We'll see how it goes. I'll post pictures afterwards. Wish me luck!

Let me know how this turns out. I need to find a shop local to do this....1 hr ago I just curbed my M310 front passenger wheel on an apron I cut too close. I'm furious with myself right now, little gash in the sidewall too.
