Yep, from some of the ones I have seen repaired that is pretty mild.

My wheels are STILL relatively scratch free (I bumped a glossy painted curb in a parking structure once and left a half inch rub which I just painted myself since my wheels are black)
I guess this is largely due to the fact that: a. I'm the ONLY one who drives my car and, b. I always park a foot or so away from anything |

Oh nice! That's really good news! Tell me...would any of you consider taking this repair to the stealership?

Hmm, how convenient! I will definitely check into that! I'm sure if one was good at it, he/she could make a buck or two at that in consideration that nearly everyone scrapes their wheels.

As far as going to the dealer, they are just going to call the same guy you could and add a mark-up to it. That's not being a "stealership", that's just business. |

Okay, one last question: Does the tire need to be removed for repair of the wheel?
If so, I need to be a little more particular about who performs the work. I certainly don't need more damage to the wheel than there already is!

I think they're lying to you, happy.
Just to show you what a true friend I am, I'll trade you my 18" base wheels straight up for your damaged-beyond-recognition 19" sports wheels. I just don't think you're gonna find this kind of offer anywhere. jk, I'm glad it should be repairable. |

yeah I would not bother getting a new wheel. That is minor damage and can be repaired easy. If you buy a new wheel it can happen again and you would be pissed again. Just get it fixed, in a year or so you will have knics, scratches even when being really careful! I have no curbage on mine, but I do have several rock chips and some scratches that I have no idea how they got there! Just wear and tear I guess...

Oh Quad! How wonderful of you to provide me with such an opportunity! The chance to have even more lightweight (but still forged) wheels is nearly irresistible! But alas, I fear the cumbersome cost of shipping that I might incur may far outweigh (and not quite offset) the cost of a repair! I suppose I will never know the true joy of shaving time off my 1/4 mile....
