Locking Lug Nuts?
I have a new set of wheels arriving this week and and need to pick up a set of locking lug nuts as I don't think the OEM set will work. What are some good options short of the Volks?(kinda pricey for me).
Thanks! |
Project Kic's (Spelling? ) Are really good.

Drop engineering extended lugs :)

Locking lug nuts aren't going to stop someone that really wants your wheels. Even the most inexperienced thief knows how to defeat them. They will slow a thief down, or make him look for an easier target though.
I'd suggest buying 2 sets of locks, and using 1 from each set on each wheel if you're truly concerned with theft. KICS are great, as well as Muteki. McGard and Gorilla make a good product, but they're more widely distributed. The problem with that is that in my opinion, a thief is more likely to have a key that fits. The KICS Bullocks are immune to that problem, because each set uses a random spline placement. Here's just the locks: KICS Bullocks 12Mx1.25 Closed Wheel Locks Black And here's the full set: KICS Bullocks and Nut set M12x1.25 Black Like I said, no wheel lock is going to stop a determined thief but it will slow them down. 2 lock per wheel is enough to make most people walk away. Unless you've got super baller wheels and leave your car over night in the ghetto, you should be fine. |
Gorilla "the system" don't get the tuner/acorn ones each lug is a lock and you they're steel so they'll last forever(not really but you get the point) You can get them on amazon for $40-$50

get 20 different locks to really confuse the hell out of the theif... (and yourself).

One will come lose and you will lose the key, then there will be a post about not being able to change tires. Waste of money.

I would rather not drive around to places where my wheels would get stolen.

^^ yikes... :(
while locks do give false sense of security they are better than not having any locks. but if i really needed security i would get a tilt sensor instead. |
Most theives also aren't stupid enough to run around a nice safe neighborhood, they will stick out like a sore thumb. I also don't put things in my car or have cars that are worth reselling.
