I have a non-sport 2010 Roadster and at 22,000 miles I'm down to the wear bars on my tires. I plan to replace them early next year but I have started looking at the Tire Rack it see if any good sales happen and I'll go ahead and get a set.
I was looking at a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport's but the rear tires are $70 per tire more than the fronts. That got me thinking, is there any reason to by matching brands/models for the front and rear tires? Maybe I get the Pilots for the front and something else for the rears. BTW, I am looking at summer tires so I figure they will all have enough performance for me as this is a DD and not a track car. Within this class of tires, I prefer a lower price and longer tire life to ultra performance. Any suggestions would be helpful.
