prep, painting technique, and polishing technique. i rattle can stuff a lot. recent project was my Ings+ front lip. 3 levels of wetsanding, 5coats of UV protectant, 2 levels of polishing using my random orbital. turned out factory finish. :p all for $15-20 in material cost, but a lot of labor (free).

this is such a noob question, but how does the pink base coat help the black coat? Going for that pearl effect?

Lol no. In no way does it change the look of the black. Unless someone used nightshades paint and did like a light transparent black..then it would probably show up purple. I just did a pink basecoat for my Girlfriend and thought it would stir something up here. :stirthepot: :tup: :icon23:

Okay I changed my mind and went with a metallic 40th grey looking color. Should be done in about 45 min. I'll upload some pics.

Nice! I wanted to do the same color whenever I buy a set of sport/Nismo wheels. Would be cool to see someone else try the same color. Just wish your Z was PG like mine :p

Overall good day...turned out great. Just wanted to get these done because it's been 110 degrees since 11 this morning. Let me know what you think :tup: Sorry I didn't get a chance to clean them up and dress the tires. There is still a little overspray dust. I'll have to use a little paint thinner on the tires.

Not bad, but I would say instead of spending your cash on painting the wheels, you might have wanted to invest in new tires... :ugh2:

Lol I bought new tires 6 months ago along with my wheels...I see no point in buying two sets of tires... Luckily they have lasted this long.

When you no longer have a full tread pattern showing, that's usually the tale-tale sign its time to get new ones... :icon17:

I ordered new ones when they were getting bad. I wasn't expecting them to take this long. I was told 1 month at the most -.- but luckily they are finally coming. These wheels might be up for sale soon.
