Default Advice needed? Got new rear tires but they scraped my rim!

Not sure what to do now so I figure I'll get everyones opinion before I go back to this place after the holiday weekend.

So Saturday I went to a very reputable place that a couple other Z'ers and a friend of mine had recommended for rear tires. Everything went well until I went to wash my car later that evening and noticed that they gouged the powerdercoat in 2 places on one of my black wheels. It's not awful, but of course I not happy about it. As you can see from the pics (please excuse the dirty tires lol), the gouges are about 4-5 inches long and about 1/8 wide on the lip of the wheel...My fault I guess for not inspecting the wheel closer before I drove off their lot.

So the question I pose is what do I do now? Obviously I'm going to say something, but do I demand some sort of refund? I need front tires soon so perhaps I ask for a discount on the fronts. Can the damaged spots be touched up? I'm not sure where they were originally powerdercoated so I'd almost be afraid of the color not matching if I had the entire wheel redone.

Any input is appreciated. I just don't want to go back and have them say "these types of things always can happen blah blah blah...live with it."

Did you show them the scratches before you left?

If so

I would ask for the cost of re-powder coating the damaged wheels.

I would definitely go back to them to show them. Be nice at first, but raise hell when you meet with their push back.

They don't come stock in black Soo, what I would do,, being a painter is fool the eye,, get some satin black spray paint tape off the areas not to be painted and put on a couple,3, light coats. Don't try to cover in 1 coat.... Work a deal on the fronts. I had to replace a front tire in Phoenix at Discount Tire when they removed my spare they scatched the car's paint at the trunk,, I got the tire for free.. You should be able to squeeze them for something... Good luck

Since the gouge is smooth I was thinking about paiting it too. I think its more of a matte black. Is that the same as satin?

Luckily the damage wasn't worse. I would consider it a lesson to check peoples work before leaving a Car Wash, Tire Shop, Window Tinting shop, Audio Shop, and the Dealer. Touch it up and move on, most people looking at the car aren't going to be perfectionist and won't notice it the first time around. Good Luck

You're in Ohio, should've drove to tirerack in southbend like I did. wasnt about to get my expensive wheels scratched up at a local wheel shop. TR has the best staff and equipment and plenty tire selection.
