Endless question on tires
I have done a search and have gotten some decent advice.
But straight up has anyone bought the Hankook v12 envo and what do you think. they will be used only for a daily driver.. tire rack has a great price on them at under 800.00 bucks... tire shop i went to today wanted 1290.00 of course that price included mounting and balance... not a complete newbie but what can i expect to pay to have them mounted and balanced. and is an alignment a good idea. thanks for any advice |
Good tire to roll around on the street, you will get less noise than stock, but less grip and less steering response.

I almost thought Endless made tires for a second :icon17:

The V12s are super squishy... the feedback is not that great. Turn in is pretty sloppy, but once the sidewall rolls over the tire actually grips pretty well. |
I like my Hankooks quite a lot. They are great for street tires. I agree that they would not be the greatest track tires but as you said, I don't track my car. I DO hit the mountain twisties in central AZ quite often and there they feel great. I actually find that they have more grip than the stock Bridgestones had and are quite a bit less noisy. I have 275's in the front and 305's in the back and I paid just at $1250 out the door. I got 16K out of the OEM's and I expect to get quite a bit more from the Hankooks. For a street tire you can't go wrong with them.

I have the v12 and can't feel a big difference between the Bridgestones. I also got 255 front and 285 rear for 1006 mounted and balanced.

255/35 & 295/30 Hankook Ventus v12 evo
No spacers. I was originally concerned about these tires simply because they are half the cost of Pilots or Pontenzas. But after putting 5k on em I have full confidence that they will hold the road when I expect them to. I literally just posted this in another thread and then I found this thread. |
well i do not have them on my 370 but i do have them on my contour svt. they are phenominal. in fact i can't wait to these potenzas wear so i can buy some v12's. I also had potenzas on my svt before these they handled a lil better but were lour wore out real fast and a real ruff ride. the evos have excellant ride and sounds quality. small difference in handling but not a huge deal. i have reccomended them to many freinds not one was un happy with them! Don;t hesisitate to buy you will not be dissapointed!!

Do you mind if i ask did it effect ride quailty any at all. I'm betting it made the over all look of the 370 look great. |

I went from Advan Sports, 245/285 (19") to the Hankooks 275/305 (20") and they are definitely not as responsive. The front of the car feels less planted, especially at high speed, and the movement is extremely squishy going into turns. Overall the tires have a greasy ride. With the Advans, when I turned the wheel, the feedback from the tires was perfect. The car went into the turn with purpose and held to whatever line you put it in. With the Hankooks, it feels like there is almost more body roll and the front end drifts around similar to what you get in a big lexus sedan or something. Ride quality is fine. They are a bit quieter. However, I will definitely not purchase them again. |
