Lug nuts for sport wheels?

I'm planning to paint my Sport wheels matte black, but then realized they would look awful with the silver lug nuts..

So I'm wondering, those who have painted their stock wheels, do you leave your lug nut unpainted, or use any after market one?

never painted wheels, but on my volk te37's I just bought a set of aftermarket lugs, that is the route I would go, pwjdm has almost any color you could want.

dont know that aftermarket ones would work. but someone showed me some rubber cans you can add on top of the stock lugs. I think it was zcarman.

Stock sport wheels are not compatible with most common aftermarket lug nuts you'd find out there.. And as far as I understand, it's not recommended to paint the lug nuts either because the paint won't hold and will scrape very easy.. I read that somewhere here on the forum..

Somebody else may chip in and provide some additional info..

There are no aftermarket lug nuts that are compatible with the stock sport wheels.

Check out ZCarMan's gallery. He has his sport rays PC'd black with the silver lugs... looks fine.

sorry OP I guess I never switched lugs on my stock wheels, just on my aftermarket wheels!

Hmm I don't remember either.

I thumbed through my ZDayZ 2011 album and yes, Jon does have the black caps on his lugnuts.

imho unpainted center caps :icon08: pop out out of place more than the nickel plated lugs... so i would concentrate on painting the center caps black and then maybe get the black caps for the lugnuts if necessary. :)

JDM has them for stock wheels and work fine for 18s or 19s (had both on car but not at same time).

I have the simple plastic lug covers. They work fine as you can't get aftermarket lugs that are the washer type that will work with the stock rays. The aftermarket lugs are acorn style and they are not safe to use on the Sport Rays. The plastic caps work fine IMHO. Here is a shot after a recent trip to the Tail of the Dragon. Forgive the brake dust on the wheels but we had been having a bit of fun!

Correct.

There is only 1 aftermarket lug available to my knowledge, and it is an OEM replica.
