Custom wheel assembly?
 

Rick finally did contact me and said that my forged centers and other wheel parts should be delivered to him any day. We'll see, I've heard this before.

My big question was, do vendors usually assemble the wheels themselves? I thought the manufacturer (Work) handled this? How do you know what parts you're getting? Are they the real, forged, quality pieces or just replicas from a unknown supplier of substandard quality? How do I know what I'm really getting and where's the QC assurance? I still don't have my wheels or a real delivery date but now I'm not sure of what I'm even getting. This is getting worse and worse. Can anyone verify this stuff? Hey Rick? Maybe Mark from RavSpec could jump in and explain the "normal" process.

Usually WORK dealers in USA must purchase wheels assembled by WORK Japan.

In addition, only the WORK VSXX and WORK Meister wheels can be assemble (since they are modular 3 piece).

All Gnosis series, Varianza series from WORK can't be assemble by anyone else except WORK Japan.

I think Rick's new forged wheels are not make by WORK. So yes, he can assemble them in that case.

Hey:

Just curious, when you measure the wheel, u need to measure from the inner lip, not the outer lip. There is 1/2" of outer lip (barrel) on the wheel are not counted toward the size of the wheel.

So if you measure your wheels from the very edge of the wheel, you need to take 1" off.

Sooo.... Rick, what are we REALLY getting from you? And why have I waited 6 months to get it?

Rick called me again yesterday and said my wheels are going to be @ my house on Saturday.

At this point one can only hope.

Do you still have to get tires or are they coming with them?

Im not sure which is the inner lip and which is the outer one but from the looks of the picture below, it looks like its measured from the inner lip

Supposed to be 9.5" when ordered but when measured its 10"... im not sure if the measurement was done correctly, but im sure the wheel shop knows what they're doing.

No the tires and tpms are already mounted &balanced

My wheels should hopefully be arriving at his shop tomorrow according to him. Hopefully he's true to his word.

So does this mean the boat Rick said would be here around the end of June has arrived or was your guys wheels on the ship before it? Rick told me my wheels are on the boat coming the end of June but I have not got any updates. Than again sense he said the date I have not asked either just didn't know if any of the people expecting their wheels to come in knew when the boat they were on arrived

yeah i have the same eta tomorrow or friday at his shop. ill be callin him tomorrow. lets see if rick comes thru.

He called me now and said his guys took the wheels to ups today after he left and said he will call me first think on the morning to give me a tracking #. I asked him if Saturday is still a good day he said yes.

So as I get info I will pass it along as usual.

Well I called him for the tracking # and both phones lines have been disconnected.

I'm not having any real faith that my Wheels are going to show up on Saturday.

What is up with this guys phone lines always being disconnected? Rick is about as done as burnt cookies when it comes to him selling anything else here. This hole story is so bothersome to me even though I haven't purchased from him. Wow!!

He should be throwing in a lip kit for all you guys.
