Wheel damaged by a shop
So i went in today to get my wheels put on and they did a good job putting on the new once without any damage but when they took off the sports rims they messed them up. Am I F@*$ in this situation or should they fix this problem? I was planning on putting them up on sale today but now that they are damaged how much less should I expect to get for them because if anything ill just ask for the difference from them. BTW the shop is owned by my best friends uncle so that also so i cant be an ******* to them. Also do i need an alignment now since i got new wheels?

Sucks... since its off the car and no tires take it back and have them pay for the fix.
I suppose if you want to sell them as is maybe 800 for the set or something. No damage 1000. |

around how much would it cost for the wheels to get fixed because there aren't any gashes into the actual wheel from what it looked like to me was that the paint was just damaged?

Usually 100-150per wheel to fix plus shipping unless you got a local repair shop that specializes in touch up work for wheels. Considering folks are willing to paint it u can probably sell it as is.

I know i was just really hoping on the extra money from this so that i can do more things to the car so I'm not to happy about loosing $200 on them. Ill try to work something out with them so maybe they will at least pay the difference of what I'm loosing on them.

I went back to the shop and they basically said its not their fault and that they could not have done any damage to the wheels, but they did tell me that stock tires on stock wheels should be able to hide the damage, can anyone please post a good picture for me with stock tires on stock rays where the tire meats the rim so that i could see if it would actually hide the damage.

I guess you should have inspected the wheels right there at the shop before taking them home. Tires will not hide any damage on the edge or face of the rim. They are just trying to duck out of this without paying to fix them.

Yes he does and he said he was sorry for recommending to go to his uncles shop, but thats about it. I'm not mad at him though because he didn't have a way of knowing that would happen he was just trying to help me out.

It's not your friend's fault. It might not be his uncle's fault either; the tire guy that works for the uncle may have been inexperienced, careless, or both. Unfortunately, that reflects poorly on your friend's uncle's shop. It's really too bad about what happened to you.

That sucks dude. I dunno. If that was my uncle and he messed up my friends wheels I would say something or at least get him to make it right. I mean come on. That's some pretty lousy *** customer service.
Also not to hijack the thread but when sh!t like this happens. How can it be prevented? Do people take pictures of their wheels before bring them to the shop? |
