Ordered my new street tires! Continental ExtremeContact DW
Just ordered my new tires through the local Tire/Wheel shop I use. Decided to ditch the Hankook's. They were okay for the money, but I want to try something new. I'll wind up getting a bit over 20,000 miles off of the rears, and the fronts still have a good deal of tread left.
Not sure what kind of improvement I'll actually see with the DW's, but I figured I'd give them a shot. I expect to at least see better tire wear, perhaps 30,000 miles? 95% of my driving is done on the highway, so I should get more mileage out of a tire than most others. I have a set of Star Spec's for the track, so I just need these to be somewhat capable, quiet, good in the rain, and good treadwear. I think they will deliver in those categories. Going with 265/35/19 in the front, and 285/35/19 in the rear. Unfortunately the 265's are out of stock for around 30 days, because they are apparently a new size. Tread on my rear tires are pretty low, so I'm probably going to just run mismatched for a few weeks. Going to try to go at least 3-4 more weeks before I replace the rears though.

what do you think of the hankook's? I wanted to buy toyo t1r's but the size i need for the rear are sold out everywhere and a couple of places recommended the hankooks. Did you do any serious driving and cornerning with them, how do they stick and perform?

There have been quite a bit of posts about the V12's. If you search on the forum you should be able to get many people's opinions instead of just mine. I'll give a quick writeup about my experiences.
They are okay... for the money. For normal driving, they are probably acceptable for most. If you find yourself pushing your car to it's limits often, then you probably want to stick with something stickier, like the Pilot Super Sports perhaps. The soft sidewall is by far my biggest complaint about them, not sure how much better the DW's will be, but I'll see.

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts about these tires once you get them on all four corners, they have some really good reviews and are reasonably priced to boot.
