Michelin Pilot Super Sports
Tire Rack has recently (in about the last month or two) started to get more and more sizes in stock of these tires including those for stck Z sizes. Anyone purchased these yet? They are supposed to be newer and better than PS2s...

I have been driving Pilot Sport A/S Plus for the last 6 months. It is a great tire. I took it on the track (my first track experience) and it stuck like glue. The A/S tires have less rubber contact than the Potenzas, but they are rock solid on both wet and dry roads (a big improvement over the Potenzas). |

From what I've been reading about the PSS, it would appear to be an excellent tire. Outperforms PS2s in just about every category. People around here are sold on the RE-11s though

I had them put on last Monday. They are feeling pretty good. You can't go wrong with any Michelins....a very reliable tire co. and this is my third set across several vehicles.

My big thing is I just want something that outperforms the factory tires. If I must replace, I might as well upgrade at the same time. The bridgestones have lasted me about 22k right now but that is about all she wrote.
Think the PSS is actually better than the PS2? I've been eyeing those until these finally came out and if the PSS is truly better than what the PS2 brings to the table, then I think I'm sold. On the same token, I used to have KDW2s on an SRT-4 prior to this and didn't have issues with them, but I know the Z is a much different animal. With the PSS treadwear of 300, it makes me wonder if Michelin has in fact made the perfect tire, or if they make something on par as the KDW2. Last edited by Volcom370Z; 05-17-2011 at 11:47 PM. |

My friend got these for his m3 after having the ps2, he said the difference is noticeable and highly recommends the upgrade

What do you think of the sidewall compared to the stock Potenzas? |

is it a stiff sidewall? the stock tires seemed to have a decently stiff sidewall. I had a set of conti DWs and the sidewalls were horrible... i could feel the play in them simply by changing lanes.
i like the sidewalls of the OEM tires, i just dont care for the tread life |
