Pilot sports are great but def cost a good buck.

You get what you pay for and the Pilot Super Sports are worth very dollar. They are the best all-around tires I have ever used on any of my Z's or other cars/trucks by far.

Is everybody sticking to stock sizes with these tires on sport package rims?

going to 275/35/19 and 305/30/19 on the sport rims this spring....

kenchan 02-16-2012 10:40 AM

why so wide? makes the tires look saggy and response sloppy, no?

the z can handle a lot of tires. Its your choice on how much you want to spend and how you want your car to drive

I have Swifts and 15/20mm spacers so I want the wheels flush. I don't track or drive 'super' aggressive, so others that have gone this way say there is no problem with response etc....

The only concern for me is the 305 on the rear which is out of spec. I know lots of people run without problems but I like to stay within manufacturer spec.

275/35 & 305/30 below. Still shredding them haha... need more rubber to handle the extra power.

I will be ordering these soon. Think I'm goind with 295's in the back.

kenchan 02-16-2012 12:41 PM

DIGI you need STICKIER rubber to handle more power, width only does not = stickier. :icon17:

i bet PSS 275/35 will stick better than V12 305/30....

I like fat turt.. I mean tires.

If anything, I don't mind switching to 265/35 & 285/35 setup. I had 255/35 tires up font, but didn't like the thin profile compared to 245/40.

So Conti DW or PSS should fit the budget (hopefully a bit stickier and slightly longer lasting)? Heck, I don't mind something slightly better than the V12 for daily driving. After paying off the car I'll get a daily grocery getter, so I don't mind better tires for driving on good days.

PSS front and V12 rear are just a terrible match. You shouldn't run mis-matched sets anyways, and those tires are just so different it's going to lead to terrible handling.

Trust me, I'm not doing it because I want to. If I had the budget, I would have had another set of PSS' on the rear. But I agree with mismatched being a bad idea. But when you don't have a choice at the moment... :ugh2:
