Soon I will be looking for a new set of tires too. In one year, at 6,000 miles I am at 6/32 in the front and 3/32 and 4/32 on the rears. I've never done a burn out either.

Is this what others experience as far as wear pattern goes.

By the way, On past cars, I got one year out of fronts and two years out of rears.

Just bought a set of Pilot Sport A/S Plus Saturday. Actually bought them the Monday before but it took Discount Tire 5 days to get them in. Love them so far. Have had several sets of Pilot Sports before (not the A/S plus) and have always loved them.

I have a question. I have RE050A's in the front with tread 8/32 and my rears are at 3/32. I'm looking to buy the A/S Plus. Would it be ok to have two different sets of tires or do I need to buy a whole set? This is my first car and first time ever dealing with tires.

Never mix tires.

At around 17000 miles I still had 6/32 on the front and 2/32 on the rears. I drive mostly open road miles.

I'm replacing my stock Pirelli PZeros with the Pilot Super Sports this summer. Based on all of the reviews and tests it looks like it clearly outperforms the PZero, which I have found to be an excellent tire. I should get double the tread life out of them too... too good to be true? We'll see!

I've had extremely bad luck with Michelins. Not because they're bad tires, mind you. Just extremely bad luck. Tires in sidewalls, random potholes, etc. If Michelin makes the best performance tire, I'll be stuck with second best

That's weird, I feel the same way. For whatever reason whenever I have Michelins it seems I get more nails, etc in the tires than when I have other brands. I even said that to my wife while buying the Michelins last week.

I've never run any Michelin's before so we'll see how that goes. I picked up a nail in one of my Hanpoops, so I guess you could say I have bad luck with those.
