How wide of a tire can we get on the base oem 18 inch wheels. Through reading this thread i figured out the wheels are 8 and 9 wide. Will 275 40 18 be too big of tire for the stock 18 wheels?

After looking over the data, I'm looking at
10.5 +34 ---285/35-19 front
11.5 +35 --- 325/30-19 rear

Anyone running this NOW??

Camber is factor and the car is on HKS hypermax III lower 1.5" all around.

Stock Nismo
275/30-19 on 9.5x19 +25
325/30-19 on 12x19 +28

Thinking on going with the 295/35-19 on a 10.5x19. and 345/30-19 on 12x19. Unless I switch from the Mich PSS, and go with the Mich Sport Cups.

Yep. Bone stock Nismo suspension. Not lowered either.

I am a total blank as far as wheel offsets go, so after reading a bunch of threads, I still have some questions.

To start with, I am not looking to do anything extreme, just improve the stance slightly.

It seems that the consensus is that to get a nice more or less flush look the following is ideal:

19x9.5 +22 (front)
19x10.5 +12 (rear)

First question would be is how would these numbers be affected with narrower rims. Say 19x9 upfront and 19X10.5 rear?

Second question/comment - I assume the wheel diameter has no effect on width and offset on the stance.

And third - how would these numbers compare to the "ideal":

19x9 +25 (front)
19x10.5 +25 (rear)

I am not sure how the different width effects the stance on the front, but I would guess I need to use a 20 mm in the rear reach "ideal".

Correct me if I am wrong, but the above front wheel would be like running a 15 mm spacer on sport wheels and the rear would look more like the rear Nismo wheel without spacer.

Please set me straight.

Thank you.

Front, 22mm more than stock inside and pushed out 22mm more. Vs the ideal, you lose 3mm inside and go out 9mm more.

Rear, lose 1mm inside and extend 11mm out from stock. Vs the ideal, you gain 13mm inside and go out 2mm more.

You're wrong, its like running a 22mm spacer. The rear im not sure what the nismo has. Play with that calculator awhile and see what will work. What wheel are you talking about that's those sizes?

2 LARGE factors on what's going to get you flush, Camber settings and tire sizes. IF you want rim flush is going to be slightly different then tire flush. I personally am running meaty tires with almost factory camber settings. 275/40/18 on a 10.5 +12 is flush at -1.2 camber settings on the rear. My fronts are a 255/45/18 on a 9.5 +35 and tire is ALMOST flush at -1.5 camber settings. New tires are a 275/35/18 on front and a 295/35/18 on the rears. Fronts will probably be tire flush and rears will probably poke tires a bit but I have SPC arms so I can adjust.

I think camber is one of the least mentioned things when it comes to being flush which is very important. I had a 18x9.5 +35 with a 15mm spacer on front and my tires were chewing fender at -1.7 camber. Yet you see some people saying they squeeze a 19x9.5 +15 on front no problem. Why??? They are running more camber and probably a more narrow tire or a shorter tire.

Gianelle Yerevan Lightweight. They recomend 20x8.5 + 25 in the front and are saying that 20x9.5 + 25 will not work, but I do not see why not.

20x9.5 +25 will be super easy to fit. they are just being super conservative UNLESS their wheel design intereferes with brake caliper clearance.

the front will look like you put on 25mm spacers on the sport 19" front.
the rear would look like, as you said, nismo wheel fit if you run minimum 285/35/19's.

im not a fan of tire tread being clearly visible from the front. unless one sports a lip, it makes the car look like a tank.
