They were lots more than I paid for my first car (1969 Datsun 510 for $900 in 1976).
Anyway, they were $1,380.00 delivered. No tax and I will mount and balance them myself for free (actually it will cost me the lunch I need to buy for the guy who lets me use his shop after hours).

Sweet, tire porn! I am very interested to hear your thoughts on these, they have very positive reviews so far but those are few and far between.

Man -- funny stuff. My wife often finds me at my desktop and jokes about me looking at "Z-car Porn".

It is a rim protector -- RE050s have the same thing.

Yeah, best rim protector is to not hit a rim...
RE11s are way cheaper, I dont think these are for maximum performance. They have a treadwear between 200-300? |

Quote:
2. RE-11 are marginally cheaper (not "way" cheaper) and with a treadwear rating of 300 on the PSS, it will more than offset the miniscule cost difference. 3. The PSS's have a treadwear warranty and the RE-11's none. 4. The PSS's test performace surpasses the RE-11 (and every other tire) in most or all areas. 5. No doubt the RE-11 is a great tire -- I have used them on other vehicles. But, they don't last very long and as they wear they get a bit squirrely in wet conditions. 6. I researched this purchase for a couple of months and absolutely believe these are the best tires to get for a Z that is driven almost every day (and driven hard, conditions permitting), in many different situations and in different weather conditions. Time will tell if I am right.

Was close to buying these tires, but decided to get Continental DW's instead. Not that they compare at all, it's just that I have a dedicated set of wheels/tires for the track, so these are going to be solely for normal driving, about 90% of which is on the highway. I didn't think I needed super performant tires in that respect.
Really interested in hearing how they perform and last. How does that mileage warranty work? I'm sure I would get much less than 15k miles on them on the track, .
