Default Tiresplus DESTROYED my wheels

This was at the tiresplus in Gainesville,Fl on 39th avenue.

I went today to get a couple of rear tires put on. My wheels had NO scratches on them at all before and one of them was replaced 2 weeks ago by nissan.

This is what happened...........

Opened a claim through tires plus and I'm waiting to hear back from a claim advisor.

Yeah I'm thinking that this case is on my side.

Does anyone know why they would jack my car up like that in the parking lot instead of putting it on a lift? Is it not possible to drive on a lift? or maybe they were just all occupied by Ford Aerostars and Dodge challengers.

Deff sucks man. sorry about that.

No they should have no jacked it up in the parking lot. This same thing happened to my brother and the guy behind the counter said the scratches were there before. My brother said really! I just painted the rims last night (Which he did) and brought them there to get tires mounted.

That sucks! I hate shops that are careless.

Make sure you post up their location to warn others.

we have a firm policy over at fitment factory..
no pneumatic tools on wheels EVER
and customers wheels are kept in the clean second bay of our facility
the only thing on that side is wheels...no tools, no people, no nothing lol

I've had this happened to me, except it was at a Firestone. Call corporate if you haven't already and tell them to replace your wheel (not repair) & ask for a full refund. They will likely ask to mount the tire to the new wheel themselves. Go elsewhere and return the damaged wheel when you're done. Look for a shop that offers leverless/touchless mounting. Tire Rack has a list of shops that have that equipment or just look for a place that sells custom wheels. They usually have the best equipment.

just enter your zip in the upper right and it will list shops near you. Then click "select/more info" and it will list the eqiupment they use.

That is a VERY cool piece of equipment.
Thanks for the link. I'm definitely changing installers next time (used TiresPlus for years, not particularly impressed) and the dealer I was looking at is on their list.

I don't see where it shows the shops have the touchless tool. Or does every shop in the search results have the tool? Such as Goodyear?

after the search result, click on the shop's <select/more info> button. Right next to the price list for services.

scroll down and look at "more installer info"

it should read like this
Quote:
Example:
Certification & Installer Facts: Full Service Undercar/Underhood Repairs For Both Domestics & Imports & Employ ASE Certified Technicians.

Mounting Equipment: MTS2010HP (Touchless)

Balancing Equipment: Coats 1001

Installer Survey Ratings:
If it doesn't say "touchless," then its not.

That isn't correct from what I've seen. Those names are inputted by the shop themselves, so it can say whatever they want. You might have to do a search on the model they use to verify whether its touchless or not.
