after the search result, click on the shop's <select/more info> button. Right next to the price list for services.

scroll down and look at "more installer info"

it should read like this
Quote:
Example:
Certification & Installer Facts: Full Service Undercar/Underhood Repairs For Both Domestics & Imports & Employ ASE Certified Technicians.

Mounting Equipment: MTS2010HP (Touchless)

Balancing Equipment: Coats 1001

Installer Survey Ratings:
If it doesn't say "touchless," then its not.

Sucks that we live in a day where people are careless like this....It's rare to find people who do good, quality work these days. Best of luck to you getting this taken care off...unleash on them! haha

Every time I get new tires on my S2000 (or any other car) I stand behind the car the entire time. I never take my eyes off it and I never pay until I inspect everything. I also have the guy writing it up check the car prior to ensure he sees no scratches are on the wheels. I would never let them jack it up without a proper lift.

Lesson learned I suppose. You better fight hard for new wheels they are EXPENSIVE!

What did you say to them? What did they say? They absolutely have to fix that. Take them to small claims if need be but I'm sure if you take the right steps you will get it fixed. If that was me I would of called the poice and got an accident report on the spot. Before I left. That is absolutely horrible and completely unacceptable.

Good luck

I cringe when its tire time, gonna take advice though and get them to inspect rims prior to any work so they have to take care of them.

That isn't correct from what I've seen. Those names are inputted by the shop themselves, so it can say whatever they want. You might have to do a search on the model they use to verify whether its touchless or not.

Of course you should do research, but that doesn't mean all shops are dishonest. Look at the reviews for the shop also and ask in person what machine they use before starting any work. If you have a better solution determining what machine tire shops use, feel free to share.

That really sucks bro. We have a Tiresplus around my area, but I never go there because they overcharge on everything.

I had this happen one time on my old 350z. The tire store scratched up all 4 rims and then tried to tell me I must have dragged it along a curb or something. Uh, no. So they ended up paying to have them refinished. But when they went to pay their credit card was declined and the company came after me for payment. I told them to go to h*ll and the tire store was to pay. In the end the rims were fixed and they lost a customer.

Good luck with the repairs!

Take your 370Z rims to an established custom wheel shop. The ones that sell outlandish rims sizes as they know how to properly handle expensive rims. The shop I use is Wheel Warehouse as they've been around forever with the same owner (a lot of the same staff too); been going there seventeen years straight for all my cars. Just find a shop like this in your area.

I wasn't saying anything about a shop being "dishonest". I was just saying that some don't list that their machine is "touchless" but it actually is. It's up to the shop themselves to input that information in. So you might want to do a search on the model they use, because it might actually be touchless even though on Tirerack it doesn't indicate it as such.

Chillax bro!

do you need to have a membership at costco and pay cash/amex still in order to purchase their goods/services?

my work has option for costco or sams and i chose sams (which i never use)... should revert back to costco next time.
