Of course you should do research, but that doesn't mean all shops are dishonest. Look at the reviews for the shop also and ask in person what machine they use before starting any work. If you have a better solution determining what machine tire shops use, feel free to share.

I had some similar line indentations on my rims after going to a local installer a few months ago. I was pissed when I saw it after I had already left. Since then I got RE-11s which are notorious for being bitches to install. I had them installed at the TireRack HQ and the guys did it flawlessly. They did comment that installing them was no simple task. Lots of lube gook on the rims and tires that I had to wash off later (they removed most, but there was still some left behind). But no new damage. Moral of the story: get them installed by first-rate installers.

I have never seen/can find anyone with a machine like the one shown in the video the tire rack site doesn't show enough info.
How do you guys go about finding someone to do your wheels/tires I have seen ALLOT of people take their wheels to a reputable shop only to leave with damage.

I took mine to Forged Performance. Didn't know they even touched them. Besides all the goo all over them. And that was with the PITA RE-11's. The guy there has been chaning tires for over 10 years and even after all that time he dislikes the RE-11's. But he took his time and wrapped the machine with towels to avoid any metal contact.
