So I have about 900 miles on my car, and this happened to me! Do you guys think that it can be plugged or patched? And if not any suggestions on where to get a good deal on tires.

Thanks
Ed

No good, it's shot! I would like to see the screw, after it's removed. That's strange it punchered there, kinda high up on the tire.

Yeah I was worried that it was to close to the sidewall.
My house is new, and there is a lot of new construction in my neighborhood.

Any suggestions on where to get a new tire? they are the 19's front right.

Tire is done! Do you have road hazard?

370ZBG 04-12-2011 05:36 PM

I was not offered road hazard when I bought the car I dont think.
Is this something that should have come with the car?

I had something like that couple of months ago. got it plugged. still works fine.

Sidewall damage is fickle and where it's located cannot legally be repaired by tire shops. Hey, but to each his own. I've run plugs and gotten away with it, and then again, I've run plugs and heard the ominous sound of the plug taking a leave of absence while at highway speeds.

shop called auto 5. they mainly do tires and general maintenance.

they fixed it though they didn't give me warranty since its at the side. meh tires are almost gone anyway.

The only thing between you and the road...
Don't chance it. Replace it.

Baer383 04-12-2011 06:31 PM

If the sidewall was compromised then the tire is unsafe to use.

No sense risking your life, pass, car for a couple hundred bucks:ugh2:

I'm not sure if its done but I know someone who had a few nails in his 350z wheel, and he kept driving with them just fine. When he would do a little wheels spin you would see sparks flying.
