Help with slick/drag radial sizes

Hey fellas,

I need your assistance in helping me find the best slicks or drag radials and the size for the following rim.

I want to ensure that I don't have fitment issues or any rubbing. I'm dropped on H&Rs and the rim size that I got is as follows:

18x10 offset +25 (only for rears)

I prefer to have full on slicks than drag radials as this pair will be strictly for the strip.

Can anyone help as as to what brand and size would fit that rim perfectly.

Only thing I could find were the Nitto NT05R in 305/45/R18

What M/T full slick size and brand would be best on this rim? Any other suggestion? Rep points for those who can assist. Thank you.

Mt Et street II's should serve you well. 500hp v8s use them and hook with no problem.

Plus you can drive to and from the track with them with the car still feeling safe.

Full slicks will "sway" and not feel all that good with oem front tires. Et street 2s will be just fine.

What size in the ET streets II? And do you know of any west coast vendor who may carry them?

I prefer slicks on a MT-equipped car because drag radials don't deal well with shock. You'll have to be careful with your clutch when using DRs. That being said, there are no drag racing slicks available for an 18" wheel. The closest is Mickey Thompson ET Street 26x11.5x17, iirc.

I just mounted some 275/35/18 BFG drag radials onto 18"x10" +22 wheels.

Packed and ready for tomorrow night. They BARELY fit! The spare was removed, but the Bose subwoofer is still in there. The passenger seat had to be moved up a bit for the top wheel to fit.

Sweet, Ryan! I can't wait to see how you do with the DRs. Should have no problem hooking up once you get them nice and warm.

Damn you packed that in your car? The track ain't nothing but like 2 miles if they from my place so imma just ride mine over but if I do change at the track I'd take a support car.

JC671 04-19-2011 07:00 AM

Just ordered..

Thanks for your help fellas..

I'm tired of slower cars at the track getting faster times than me and trapping much lower..

I said no more.... Just ordered me some ET street radials II 305/35/R18. For my 18x10 wheel +25 offset that I bought...

I'll report the results once I test them

98intrigue 04-19-2011 07:42 AM

chuckd05 04-19-2011 12:53 PM
