Spacers on stock rays with 295's

I have 265/35/19 up front, no drop, no rub. Guys have gone as wide as 285 I believe without drop and no rubbing.

get 305's man, cheaper and easy to find tire. i got the whole set of v12 tires 255 front and 305 rear for $720 free shipping

Oh snap......back to square one on the learning curve...... I just learned that to keep the car from alot of understeer, that I should be looking at similiar ratios to stock. For the RE-11's the ideal combo is 265/305 but what I am hearing is that the 305 is too large for the 19" sport wheel, that is if I don't do anything else. Other tires come in different sizes that will have the right ratios.

This is making my head hurt! I may just go with stock sizes this time around and wait to see how everything looks and fits (tires, drop, spacers) after the Eibach springs are swapped out for Swift. I am keeping my 20mm/25mm spacers.

America's Tire has a tire calculator for checking ratios. Gonna go crunch some numbers.

dude i have 255/35/19 and 305/30/19 with 25mm spacers all around and 1" drop, no rub and still have room 265's tire front. i mean cmon man this thread doesnt have to go 2 pages

sorry i got 19" before, but now i got 20x10 +10 with 255 tires front and 20x12 +0 with 305 tires rear and still no rub.

It's not so much the height of the tire, you just don't want to run a wider tire in the back than the front unless your car is naturally not balanced (mid or rear engine cars) or you want to create understeer. Nissan staggered the tires to create understeer so people don't kill themselves, creating more is just as stupid. Drive at your own risk

Good to hear, I tend to ask the same questions over and over but in a different way each time. And thought this was one of times I went overboard. Agreed, a forum is to discuss and discover answers to our questions.

Thanks for clearing the air on your tire and wheel combo set up. Good to know that even with 19" sport wheels that you did not rub.

Thanks for this excellant information on tires. I want to stay within proper tire setup range and not create another problem in handeling. In your opinion and reading about my setup and what I have to work with without having to add another part or spend more $$ what is opinion on the proper tire sizes I should be looking at? Am I looking to try and keep the staggered width of front and rear to be similiar to stock ?

For example if the difference in width on stock from front to rear is a difference of 1.18" then I should look for tires with the same difference or as close the 1.18" difference to keep understeer within the stock range?

wrong, stock tires should be
245/40/19 FR
275/35/19 Rr or 285/35/19 same as nismo stock tires size

So crunching some tire sizes on America's Tire Calculator it came up with a difference in "Section Width" for:

245/40/19 & 275/35/19 = Section Width difference of 1.18
245/40/19 & 285/35/19 = 1.57
255/35/19 & 285/35/19 = 1.18
255/35/19 & 305/30/19 = 1.97
265/35/19 & 305/30/19 = 1.58

Is this about right as to what I should be looking for? Meaning the 1.18 tires would be similiar to stock and stock understeer and anything higher would create more understeer.
