What's your criteria in choosing replacement tyres?
Select an option that best describes how you prioritize a tyre's attributes when choosing a replacement set for your 370Z.
Assume that cost is not an issue. Feel free to elaborate. |
street set - whatever fits with the right sizing and decent longevity.
race set - whatever fits with the right sizing, with maximum dry grip. |
i'll recommend to you the Hankook V12 EVO
we've been using them on most of customer cars lately...very very very decently priced and they have outstanding grip in most tests the only tire that outperforms it is the Michelin PS2, and the PS2 only out performs it in the wet skid test where its a very little difference in the amount of Gs the Hankooks hold versus the PS2 i would say for any performance car thats looking for a great all around tire...the Hankook V12 EVO is without a doubt the way to go |

Handling for me. I do more spirited driving than anything. And soon to be traking. So the RE 11's for myself.
|
for me with mostly straight sometimes bumpy roads, i like to have a compliant ride, but sticky when pushed, and less road noise is a plus.
im a big fan of the RE050A PP's but it's a tad bumpy on uneven roads. the ContiDW's im running right now are actually pretty good, just ugly sidewalls. :D a tad soft on the steering feedback. i'd prefer these tires on my G35C. next im going to try the S04's. after that, not sure yet, might do the pilot super sports. |
80% handling 19% durability and 1 % anything else for my tire choice.
|
Tires and oil. 2 agonizing choices.
My OEMs are about done and I am going with Pilot Super Sports. I hope to post a review after I get some miles on them. |
mich's are great tires but for the price, it seems like one of the best bang-for-buck buy's on the market right now are continental DW's. my friend is getting them for his nismo 350 to replace the re050's soon. on tirerack.com the DW's are rated higher than every other tire in that class except for RE11's in one category (dry traction) which is understandable comparing the tread design and compound... that includes michelin's too. they are substantially cheaper than all of those other tires too in the same sizes.
|
I usually go with a tire I like the feel of. Next set may need to have better treadwear though.
|
I'm a big fan of the AD-08s. I have switched from R compounds to these for track use. I'm within a second of my lap times at Road Atlanta on them compared to BFG R1 track tires, and they are also comfortable on the street, even though I don't drive the car on the street much at all anymore.
|
Please stay away from the V12 as a track tire, they are awful...
