I have the stock sport pkg wheels and am running HandKook VENTUS V12 tires on all 4. The front tires are 255/35/19 and the rear tires are 305/30/19 and fit with no issues at all. You could probably go a little wider but taking into consideration side wall height ratio between front and back, and the tire staring to stretch i think a 265/305 combo would be the widest. The staggered setup widths is subjective to your preference but as long as you keep the side wall profile close to the same height it should look proportional. If you put something like a 275 in the front it may start to rub in turns, but have a search around the forum, you will see what others are running.

Yeah, I added 20mm H&R Trak spacers purchased from Stillen a month after I added the 305's in the rear.
I have spacers for the fronts but have not installed them yet. |

No the spacers had nothing to do with the fitment of the 305 rear tires. The 305's fit perfect with or without the spacers. Good luck, put some pics up when you get them...

Thanks, it wont be till the end of summer now, i picked up VENTUS V12's 285's at the end of last summer, so i'll have to run these now, but will be jumping up to a VENTUS R-S3 305 for the next ones.
Thanks again for the info. Last edited by 90 ST; 04-11-2011 at 01:23 AM. |

@ 370z1, Sure would like to know if your 255/35/19 up front are gonna rub with the 20mm spacers. I have 20mm spacers up front on sport rims with OEM tire size 245/40/19 dropped 1" and going to drop 1.2 after the Swift springs arrive. Debating whether to stay stock up front or go with 255 or 265. Are you dropped?

Nope, not dropped (yet) :-)
As of right now there is no rubbing and I have both the 20mm spacers and the springs in my garage waiting to be installed. The springs will drop the front 1.2 inches and the rear 1 inch. My guess is that if it does rub it will because the spacer pushed the tire out too far and will then make the top portion of the tire contact with the outer curved fender lip upon larger throws. I don't suspect the 255 tire width will rub due to turning radius even with a 20mm spacer installed because it looks like there will be room. Only one way to find out, I'll update the post after i get both the 4 springs and the front spacers installed, but it won't be for a while. If I remember correctly I read others had 20mm spacers and were dropped and did not have issues. Have a search on this forum, you'll find set ups that are working like what you want to accomplish. If you don't find anything let me know I'll find those posts. Good luck and after you get those installed share some pics please.... |

Did you find that understeer increased? Being that the stock tires have a section width difference between front and rear with staggered tires of 1.18 . And with your setup the section width difference is 1.97, which would increase understeer.
I am hoping that with the 255/35/19 vs 245/40/19 with the 255's having a lower sidewall height of -0.35 that it will compensate for the wider section width of 0.39 and therefore not rub. I will definetly post up some photos once I am finished. Thanks for your help! If my research is right I want to have a section width difference between the staggered tires to be similiar to the stock staggered difference of 1.18. And if my calculations (using America's Tire Calculator) are correct then the ideal staggered tire width difference similiar to stock tires would be with this combo: 255/35/19 & 285/35/19 with the same section width difference as stock at 1.18 Another member (COLDSHOT) has 255/35/19 & 305/30/19 on 25mm spacers both Fr & Rr with 1" drop Fr & Rr with no rubbing. |
